A new day

I awoke the next morning, found myself in the center of a pile of beautiful women, Kali snuggled into my left, Jean on my right with rogue atop me. This early morning training? I'd do a Solo Defense run, find out what it was like first.

So I set up the time dilation around the room and hit start, the first thing I ended up seeing? A massive crystal high lighted with a marker, I guess this is the point I have to defend? I saw a screen appear, it offered me different options, traps, defenses, even soldiers I could summon to defend the location. It showed me an option to do numerous other things as well, including allowing me to... wait WHAT?!?! My jaw dropped open at the options I saw, I could use points I earned to unlock new knowledge, to gain perks for powers, to accuire new skills, books, money, resources. I could only buy from the points shop only once I'd completed a run, good news was I wouldn't lose the points either so they'd carry over.

"Holy fuck my powers are bullshit... And this is some of most OP bullshit I've ever SEEN." I let out, staring at the points shop screen, from books that would grant me new levels of intellect, to being able to redeem items that would allow me to improve my magic, gain new powers or get perks to improve the ones I already have. I couldn't help but stare at the screen in surprise, the simply INSANE amount of rewards that could be gained from this was stunning to say the least. I didn't have any points to use for anything yet, so it would be better to go ahead and get started for now. The area looked like some sort of cave system, a couple massive openings with markers for where enemies would come from, I brought out my clones and prepared myself.

The first creatures to come running through were of the fantasy variety, a large group of about 20 male goblins running to try and stab the defense point. They were easily stabbed to **** by my clones and their spears, the next wave coming in on a count down, this time along with the goblins came a couple of trolls, trolls that healed rapidly, almost faster than my clones could do damage. The 3rd wave came in with Ogre's this time, wielding massive clubs no less. The Ogre's brought down some clones but I was able to summon more to keep fighting back, overwhelming the ogre's with numbers. Things were going pretty easy, until wave 5 came around...

The 5th wave came around, and suddenly the cave roof shattered, falling down closing off one of the entry points, leaving the enemies with only ONE path to reach the crystal, then I saw what ELSE that earthquake or whatever had done... Off in the distance, probably around 100 meters away, there was now 5 entrances for the enemies to come in through and HUNDREDS of enemies! Goblins, hobgoblins, ogre's, trolls, now with huge bipedal Hyena's called Gnolls spread all over. Now it made more sense why this was called a defense mission... I gulped and tried to look through the screen, see what defense's I could grab to make this easier... Wait... I could use points to get some permanent bonuses for Defense runs? I looked at what and it showed that I could spend my points to get a small amount of points each time I completed a wave, another bonus gave me a small amount for wiping out each enemy and another that gave a nice boost for beating a certain number of them. Increasing the number of points I got and how fast I could get them seemed like the best way to get more points with shorter runs, I also ended up getting a book that I wouldn't be able to use until the run was over but I did use some of my points to get something called an A battery? Imagine my surprise when 3 lines of 10 archers appeared in the area.

I also was informed they could be upgraded in several different ways including using magical bows and arrows or increasing their fire rate and accuracy. I went ahead to the next wave, my clones rushing out to fight and try to beat back the enemy army, the archers firing a hail of arrows down into the enemies, somehow missing my clones. The gnolls though were too fast, running their way towards me, the clones having to switch targets to **** the gnolls not to just run past them. The ogre's were swinging at any clones that got too close, I saw goblins running with... WHY WERE THERE BOMBS ON THEM?! Like a comically large stick of dynamite that they lit and ran at enemies once they got close enough, now there were other enemies trying to move in, are those Fantasy Orcs? Some of them are wearing heavy armor or using crossbows, most of them are wielding clubs or using axes. That wave and the next few waves were a brutal difficulty spike.

When wave 10 rolled around I was able to spend more points on those permanent bonuses, things were getting pretty tough though already, so I considered just calling it here, possibly trying a another defense or two while I had the time. I backed out for the time being, starting up another Defense run as fast as I could, I wanted to get as much out of these runs as I could. I managed to make it to wave 10 another 4 times before I finally called it and headed out, cashing in my rewards and planning to continue training before doing any checks on my level ups. With that I went to get cleaned up and headed for lunch, my study clone team sending the information that they had been taught while they were in class. I had barely gotten into the kitchen, had enough time to see Jean sitting there along with Kali, Boom Boom and Jubilee among several others. The professor I think had gone out to eat lunch, which alleviated a little of the concern I felt when Kali looked over and suddenly teleported over to me.
