Something in Deep Space

Two weeks later

Gwen furrowed her brow, a little taken back. "Run that by me again...?"

"This is all extrapolation on my part, but based on the readings I've gotten in deep space, there might be something out there... consuming other planets," Reed explained. "I'm getting a massive energy reading moving around from place to place out there and it's... well, it's not leaving anything in its wake."

"A planet-eating monster... sounds pretty ominous," Gwen commented.

"Again, it's only a theory of mine. It might just be an anomaly," Reed clarified. "Whatever it is, it's too far away right now for me to do anything more than make educated guesses as to what it actually is."

Gwen shuddered, trying to imagine what a planet-eating entity would be like. "I don't think we wanna find out..."

"I understand your concerns, Gwen. On the other hand, knowing more about it would allow me to take better preventative measures against it," Reed explained. "Anyway, I'm telling you this because you occasionally run into aliens or find yourself in space, so you might want to keep your eyes and ears open."

"Gotcha. I'll tell you about any weird alien encounters going forward," Gwen agreed. "Speaking of things from space, I *did* recently meet someone who came out of a space pod that fell out of the sky..."
