Save the moment for another time

“I think we’ve pressed our luck enough here,” you tell Gemma. She smiles and nods in agreement.

“So where to?” she asks with a raised eyebrow.

“Actually, I have to get back to work,” Sabrina says. She looks at you with a bit of annoyance as she adds, “I have to finish a report I was supposed to be working on an hour ago…”

“Yeah… I need to compile my notes for this meeting too,” Gemma realizes with a tinge of disappointment. “Raincheck then?”

“You sure we can’t just sneak into the ladies room or something?” you ask, hopefully.

“Nah, the moment’s passed,” Gemma grins. “Another time.”

“Later tonight?”

“I still have to deal with my sister after this,” Sabrina reminds you. You are tempted to suggest inviting her to join, but that would be too much information in front of Gemma and Sabrina won’t likely take that suggestion well.

“Well, thet just leaves you and me,” Gemma points out suggestively. It takes you a moment for this to register. You never even considered the attractive blonde foreigner to be interested in you like that! You turn your head to Sabrina and see that she’s none too pleased about the idea. Gemma catches Sabrina’s look and immediately backs down. “You know, now thet I think about it, it’d be rude of us not to include Sabrina. Let’s find a time thet works for oll of us!”

Sabrina seems placated by the idea, relaxing her glare. You wait for her to respond first. “That sounds good to me…”, she tells Gemma quietly.

“Hey, Sabrina, if I’m intruding in any way, between you and John, let me know! I’ll beck off,” Gemma assures her.

Sabrina slowly shakes her head. “No… no,” she responds, glancing at you. “John and I have an… agreement.” Gemma waits for an explanation so Sabrina has to think of a way to put it. “We agreed…” she says, looking at you to jump in any time.

“We agreed to be friends with benefits,” you interject. “Nothing serious, just some fun to let off some steam after a long day.”

“Yeah… that’s it,” Sabrina nods.

“Sounds good to me, I’m oll for letting off steam!” Gemma agrees with surprisingly little hesitation.

“Yeah?” you ask her.

“Yeh! As long as it’s on the down low, who’s to say what you do on your own time?” the Aussie reasons. Then she turns to Sabrina again. “So… this agreement you have with John... is thet an exclusive deal? I can’t tell who made the first move down there, but the both of you seemed eager to let me in on the whole thing after a while.”

Sabrina looks at you again, not sure what your take is on the offer. You gauge her level of interest as well, but it’s too hard to tell from just a look. “Can we… sidebar?” you ask Gemma.

“By all means,” Gemma chuckles.

You take Sabrina to the side of the room to talk this over.

“So? What do you think?” you ask her.

“Gemma? Don’t you already have a whole harem of girls already?” Sabrina replies.

“Hey now… you and Olivia seemed to be awfully close the other night and I wasn’t involved in that!” you rebut. Sabrina pouts, but doesn’t have a response.

“So… Gemma,” she says, changing the subject, “She’d be like a new member of the roster?”

“Well, I don’t know about the whole video thing, but I was just thinking ‘friend with benefits’…” you say. “You DID connect with her. I saw what you were doing under the table…”

Sabrina bites her bottom lip, blushing at what she did. She glances back at Gemma with a nervous energy and fond affection. Gemma smiles back and waves. Sabrina then looks at you with unsure eyes. She seems interested in Gemma but not interested in you with Gemma. You sigh.

It looks like you will have to help Sabrina come to a decision.
