Strange Creatures from the East...

The minute that Terra started to feel at ease, she heard something cackling in the distance. Reaching for her bow, the girl whipped around to find cover. Luckily, a barrel was nearby and she was able to place herself inside and look about. The high pitched laughter grew louder and even howling noises arose. There were many of whatever was coming.

Then, as fire seemed to light the hill overlooking the East side of Wiggins, a group of grotesque looking creatures in armor looked over the town. Terra had never seen such things and immediately felt at a disadvantage. Quickly thinking, she ducked into the barrel and listened as the group moved through the town.

No one exited their houses as the things moved about, probably out of fear. But those things knew they were there. They could smell them.

"Seems we've found quite a nice place here."

"Yes... I think we should claims it."

"Silence!"

One of the things spoke louder than the rest. Looking through the cracks of the wood, Terra could make out bits and pieces of the last one that spoke. Though his helmet covered majority of its face, a scar seemed to run down its left eye while the other was swollen. Many of his teeth were missing, but those that remained were very sharp. Instinctively, Terra gulped.

"Hey! Do you smell that?"

Another spoke up and that was when she knew that she had made a mistake. The shuffling of metal could be heard and she was ready to pull out one of her arrows and start stabbing at anything that came at her.

However, she heard them moving past the barrel and behind her completely. Looking back, she tried to see who it was through the boards and that was when she knew immediately who it was.

Little Mordick, a teenaged boy around the age of fourteen now without a father, stood on his porch while sleepily rubbing his eyes. His mother was probably still out trading threads in the local big city. He had no way of knowing who was outside of his door so late.
