A fitting punishment

The main hall of the mansion was magnificent, very stylish. The woman escorted Jessica down one of the many corridors. "Okay look lady, this is all a big misunderstanding, I was just--"

"Don't even try it, I've already seen the footage of your misbehaviour." Markle interrupted. Jessica crossed her eyebrows, confused. "But.. that woman can't have shown you, she only came up with this idea 5 minutes ago!" Jessica asked, puzzled. "Oh honey, you really think this wasn't planned from the beginning? The moment that woman got footage of you, she had already devised a punishment, and she sent me the evidence so if anyone asks where you are they'll know you're being punished!" Markle explained.

Jessica gulped as they ventured far into the mansion, this was a rabbit hole that she kept sinking down without control...

The woman finally stopped at a metal door. She opened it and shoved Jessica inside. It was a small metallic room with a terminal on the other side. "Well Jessica, this is the first machine I'd like you to test for me. It's a punishment machine with an AI designed to analyse what you did, and then create a very fitting punishment. I don't know the extent to what this AI is capable of, which is why I need you to give it a go!" Markle explained menacingly.

Jessica didn't know what to say, she was too busy finding a way out. "Now just go over to the terminal and say, 'I've been a naughty girl.' Go on, do it!" Markle shoved Jessica forward. With a glance back at her new captor, Jessica once again reminded herself of what was at stake. "My life, my career, my future. Do it for that..." She muttered.

Jessica approached the terminal and took a deep sigh. "I've been a naughty girl..." she spoke into the screen. Suddenly, a blue light shone all over Jessica, as if the AI had scanned her. "Jessica Johnson, News reporter for the DNN, has been naughty. What is the crime?" A robotic male voice asked.

Jessica looked back at Markle, who ushered her hands with a gesture for her to comply. She took another sigh, reminded herself of why she needed to do this, and began. "I bullied a homeless man and threatened a disciplinary officer..." She sighed, hoping that this machine was faulty.

Loud noises could suddenly be heard, machinery began to whirl. "Oh this is brilliant! It's creating your punishment now!" Markle exclaimed with joy. Jessica gulped, whatever it was, it could not be good...
