Arnold stood awkwardly unsure of what to do. That’s when he noticed Alice Hemmingway leaning on the wall. She was wear a pretty blue dress. Arnold slowly approached. “Hey, Alice,” Arnold said.
Alice beamed as she saw Arnold. “Oh, hey Arnold. I saw you on the prom king ballot… congrats I guess,” Alice said.
“I haven’t had a chance to look at it,” Arnold said.
“Well I voted for you,” Alice said.
Arnold smiled. “Thanks.”
“Vote for Prom Court,” a girl said as she handed Arnold a ballot.
Arnold glanced at the options. He noticed the options for Prom King and Queen only had two each. Tyler Rhodes and Arnold Stuart for Prom King… and the other side. Chelsea Tanner and Alice Hemmingway. “Wait…” Arnold said. “You’re on the ballot too?”
Alice blushed. “Y-yeah… not my idea though.”
“Well, I’ll vote for you then,” Arnold said.
Alice blushed. “T-thanks. I should probably get going. My date is… where did he go?”
“Who’s your date?” Arnold asked.
“T-tyler…” Alice said her face glowing now.
“Oh, well. That’s great,” Arnold said.
“Attention ladies and gentleman!”
Arnold and Alice turned to the small stage up front where Stacey, Alice’s stepsister stood. “Prom King and Queen votes will be announced very shortly. Please make sure to vote,” Stacey had a big grin on her face. “Tonight is just going to be full of surprises.”
A few more minutes went by and Stacey returned. “Alright, the votes have been tallied. The Prom King and Queen winner are…”
