John arrives Los Angeles

The next day John's flight lands in Los Angeles and he checks into his hotel. John heads to the nearest mall and picks up a suit and tie for the movie premiere, he then heads to E news headquarters to obtain a pass for the movie premiere that night. As John shows up at the E news building, he walks in and is stopped by a security guard. The security guard asks for some identification and John uses his powers on the guard to tell him to let him through and direct him to where he can get a pass. The guard directs him to the 6th floor.
