Valerie and Eva split up

Valerie and Eva exited the office and went in different directions, as per their plan. Valerie would sneak to the control room and allow Iris to access the building's network. In the meantime, Eva was to sneak to the lab and wait nearby until Iris could disable the security in the room.

"An unexpected convoy just arrived.", Valerie's earpiece cackled. It was Hawk. "Had to go dark to avoid being detected. Something's wrong here."

That was concerning, she thought. They had chosen this day and time specifically because it was supposed to be quiet. Unexpected events were rarely for the positive on missions like this.

"Eva and Hawk, stay low.", she replied back. "I'll try to get Iris inside the network ASAP."

Luckily for her, the part of the building she was in didn't seem to be heavily patrolled. Apart from one disinterested guard half asleep at his desk whom she avoided easily, she didn't encounter anyone else on her way to her destination.

The door to the control room was made of two large sheets of solid metal, securely closed. A keypad of some kind was located, its enclosure protruding from the wall as the buttons glowed slightly in the darkness of the corridor.

"I'm there.", she said. "Iris, help me get inside."
