Emma

You missed Emma in English, but you remember that her dorm room is literally on your floor. You can't help but feel like, if you knock, she might not answer. But you tell yourself you'll get it a shot and, if not, you'll hang out in the commons.

So you approach her door and knock softly. Only after knocking do you hear her voice on the other side. Somewhat loud...elevated? Is she shouting?

You increase the volume of the knock, and her voice pauses. You definitely hear something resembling anger on it right up until she cuts off. There are the vibrating thumps of someone walking on the hollow floor, and then the door opens slightly. She sees you, and then it opens wider. You can see that she is on the phone with someone, and looks almost uncomfortable...but not with you.

"What's up?" she says, turning the phone back and away from her ear for a second.
