The following passage from the dress code

Ms. Hart read the following passage: in addition to white shoes, the employee wears mostly white socks. Color on the toes and/or heels is allowed. Patterns are not allowed.

"Those aren't white socks, right Olive? Olive looked at her socks and shook her head. "No Mrs. Hart, these are black." "Well Olive, then you know what to do. Take off your socks and put them in your shoes." Embarrassed, Olive peeled her socks off her feet and tucked them into her shoes. With every step, she was now reminded of her lack of footwear.
