Chapter 27 by Blackhand Blackhand

Who Will Her Master Be?

Option: Your Neighbor

The man {if **** = false}she picked{endif}{if **** = true}who had his claws on her{endif} didn’t live far away. In fact, you could have walked to his door within a minute.

Your modest house was the smallest in the neighborhood. You and your wife had just gotten married and didn’t feel you needed much space. It was cheap enough that you could afford it and well placed. However, it meant that every other house on the block dwarfed it. The house to your left was practically a mansion. There was no way you shared a tax bracket with anyone living there.

The house was for sale at the same time yours was. Someone moved in shortly after you did. He was an older professional, with silver hair, who was probably in his late 40s. You actually met him the same day he’d moved in. You’d come out to welcome him to the neighborhood.{if Male = true}

You quickly got a sense of what kind of man he was. You came in to give him a handshake, only for him to crush your hand. You pulled back after, {if Meek = true}whining{endif}{if Meek = false}joking{endif} about the strength of his grip. He just laughed, insisting that you needed to work on your grip. Otherwise no one would take you seriously.{endif}

If it had been entirely up to Kaori, you would have been the only one greeting him. It wasn’t like she’d put much effort into getting to know any of the other neighbors. Still, it was the first time someone had moved in since you arrived. With some cajoling, a bit of prodding, and maybe a little chastisement, you managed to guilt her into following along. You did have to do all the talking, though.

Kaori hadn’t wanted to come out, of course. It wasn’t as if she were on friendly terms with any of your other neighbors. But, this was the first time someone had moved into the neighborhood since you’d arrived. You managed to chastise her into awkwardly following along with you. Though, you did have to agree to do all the talking.

“Mph. You know I’m not a people person…”{if Female = true}

This was to be your first lesson what kind of man he was. He noticed immediately that you were accompanied by a wife, not a husband. He flashed a big, cock smirk and joked about how it would be “fun” living next to some lesbians. {if Meek = false}You smiled awkwardly{endif}{if Meek = true}You stared blankly{endif}, already regretting your choice to be a hospitable neighbor.{endif}
