Kaori Loved It
Kaori, of course, was a glutton for any sort of speculative fiction film. She spent the whole movie leaning forward with her eyes glued to the screen. Whenever you turned to her, you found her in her usual pose for when she was focused. Legs up in the chair and arms wrapped around her legs. Flashes of the action reflected off the lenses of her huge glasses. Seeing her this way, entranced by the screen, made you smile just a little bit.
As you left the theater, she was near leaping for excitement. It turned out that this was the movie she’d been most excited to see. In gratitude for your selection, she gave you a little kiss.
“I must have told you before, right? Back when we were in school together, Beyond the Veil was one of my favorite graphic novels. Did…did you actually remember, Darling?”
You assured her happily that it had been nothing but a lucky guess. Not that it convinced Kaori. She was always quick to assume the best about you. As you started for home, she gave you a long run down of all her favorite parts. You smiled and listened along, just happy that she had enjoyed herself.
