Her bag arrives, but she loses the blazer

It was a long and excruciating 10 minutes for Candace. She stood off by the wall, detached from the crowd, and silently watched as the other passengers took their own belongings from the carousel and departed from the airport. She even watched as David eventually grabbed his own duffel bag. The man seemed to glance around for a minute or so before he left, though. Had he been looking for her?

Surely not, Candace thought.

Part of her wanted to say goodbye to him, but she was distracted from those thoughts by the sight of a familiar green bag finally rolling into view. It was hers! She exhaled a huge sigh of relief. Finally she could get dressed again! Part of her had been beginning to get nervous that it wasn't going to show up. She waited another minute or so, and finally the coast seemed relatively clear. There were still a few people mingling around the large open area of the baggage claim, but the crowd from before was now largely gone.

Candace approached the carousel, making sure to keep her broke blazer clamped shut. As the bag had swung around to her position, she grabbed it. But, to her dismay, Candace found that her sleeve was stuck in the conveyor belt! The frayed and dangling threads had gotten caught between the moving slats

"No, no, no!" she cried.

Candace first used her non-stuck hand to haul her bag off the conveyor belt. Then, she tried desperately to tug the sleeve free. But this time, it wasn't budging. Even worse, Candace had to awkwardly walk alongside the conveyor belt in order to keep up with it! She stumbled slightly over something unseen on the floor, but that was all it took for the conveyor belt to be the victor in their struggle.

When Candace paused for a moment to regain her balance, the belt began pulling the blazer away from her. It tugged the jacket off her left arm completely, but it wasn't done there. The unyielding machine kept pulling. This actually spun Candace around as it yanked the blazer off her right arm as well. As Candace spun and fell to the floor, the conveyor belt retreated out of sight with its victory prize claimed.

"No..." Candace whined, once again left without a stitch to wear.

At least, until she remembered her bag. Whirling around, the naked woman got to her shaky feet and zipped back to her fallen bag. With no small amount of dismay, Candace realized that remaining half dozen people were all staring right at her. But, as she crouched down by her travel bag, she pushed her embarrassment aside. Because now she was finally going to be able to get properly dressed again!
