Traffic directly into the auditorium was further stalled because of the rows and rows of tables set up with cookies, many store-bought but most made by the school's culinary classes throughout the day. People stopped to grab handfuls on cheap paper plates and festive napkins. She spotted familiar faces from the community, all eager to witness the musical extravaganza. Before she could navigate through the auditorium's entry area and take a seat she saw Principal Howard. He was on the prowl.
