Jack & Miranda

"Good evening, Shepard."

"'Sup, Shep."

Jane smiled nervously as Jack and Miranda stood at the door, nodding as she stepped aside to let them in. Miranda was dressed as a sleeveless, black and red gothic dress with a long, black cape, giving a brief smile to show off a pair of fake fangs in her mouth, indicating the vampire she was dressed as. Jack, on the other hand, had arrived as a werewolf; wearing a costume that consisted of a bikini top and shorts that were covered in brown fake fur, a pair of wolf ears attached to a headband on her head, and a wolf tail attached to her belt.

"Jack. Miranda." Jane greeted, carefully closing the door and making sure her toga didn't get caught. "Thank you for coming. I apologize for all this being so last minute, especially with you two planning for," she briefly looked down at the ring on Jack's finger as the tattooed woman grabbed a couple of goblets of **** from the drink table, "well, your big day and all. But Liara insisted, and -"

"Ah, don't sweat about it, Shep!" Jack said nonchalantly, handing Miranda a goblet before taking a chug from her own. "You should've seen Miri when we got the invite though. She's fucking nuts about this holiday! She was like a kid in a candy store, and almost ran out of the apartment naked after I made her -"

"Sometimes I wonder if you have an off button, Jack." Miranda interrupted, her cheeks turning pink.

"You know I do, Babe." Jack replied smugly.

"I meant one that I can push in public." Miranda said with a smirk, rolling her eyes.

"You know you love me!"

"Well, I wouldn't have gotten down on one knee and proposed to you if I didn't, now would I? Nor practically explode in joy when you said yes?" Miranda asked rhetorically before turning to Jane. "But she is right. I've always loved Halloween. So when the invite came -"

"I got it." Jane said with a nod. "Nice costumes, by the way. Werewolf and vampire; classic."

"Thank you."

"Yeah, and nice..." Jack began as she looked over Jane's costume in confusion. "Er, Sorority Girl at a Toga Party...?"

"I'm the Greek goddess Athena." Jane replied, slightly annoyed.

"Well, obviously." Miranda said, taking a drink from her own goblet before looking around. "I just love the decor, by the way. All this at the last minute?"

"Well, Liara -"

"Jack! Miranda! So good you can come!" Liara greeted as she walked into the room. "Jane, can I get your help with something please?"

"Hey, Blueberry!" Jack called back as Jane walked over to her bondmate. The tattooed woman then whispered to her fiancee, "Did you have any fucking idea that that's who she -"

"Not in the slightest." Miranda whispered back in reply. "I honestly thought that she was in a towel and still getting her costume ready when she answered the door."
