6. Chase storms off

“Idk, babe, maybe we should pick a different route.”

“Alright, fuck this, I’m running our usual route and you can come with me or not.”

Chase takes off running down the driveway, leaving you and his dad standing on his doorstep.

“I…” You trail off.

“Well…” His dad starts.

“I guess I’ll just run on my own then… what kind of incidents were they?”

“Two robberies and an attempted assault.” Steven wears a grim look.

“Oh. I guess maybe I don’t need to go for a run then after all…”

Steven looks you up and down and you can see an idea enter his mind.
