Chapter 6 by gothamalleyviper gothamalleyviper

Who is Dixie meeting first and what is the outfit?

Thrifting with Huntress in a leather Joan Jett number

“Hay little sister, who’s the only one…” Helen softly sang along to Billy Idol’s White Wedding playing on the store speaker.

This wasn’t what Dixie was expecting, the appointment was for a lesson in feminine disguises with Helen “The Huntress” Wayne, or Helen Bernitelli as she is currently known, the other dimensional daughter of Bruce and Selina Wayne, but here she was with Helen dressed up in cheep vinyl pants, a Black Flag band t-shirt, a leather jacket and a blonde wig that made her look like power girl at a dive punk bar at a thrift shop looking at stuff under a Halloween banner. Dixie was keenly aware that the clerk was checking her out. The shredded leather pants, crop-top and jacket were tightly fitted.

“You will totes get the clerks number if you try this on,” Helen said in a too convincing valley girl accent.

“You know I always wondered how you operated on a teacher’s salary,” Dixie whispered to Helen.

“I don’t, Alfred has been slipping me an allowance since I came over to this dimension,” Helen whispered back in her normal voice before switching and speaking louder, “Like go ask to try it on girlfriend!”

The dress was a cheep plastic “Bat-babe” skater dress that barely fit Dixie’s feminine body.

“Fine,” Dixie asked.

Dixie took the dress on the hanger and strutted towards the counter. She didn’t know where the strut came from, but it felt like something Selina would do.

“Yeah, Hi,” Dixie said, falling into a sweet southern accent, “Yu’all mind if I try this on? My friend thinks it would look cute…”

“Sure, right this way,” the twenty something year old guy said.

He led Dixie to a small door back along a wall not far from the counter. He opened the door and ushered Dixie in.

“You know my friend is trying to pick a cute outfit herself and could use the advice of a cutie like you,” Dixie said trying to lay in as much Scarlet O’Hara into the southern accent as she could reasonably do.

“Sure,” the man smiled.

Dixie stepped in and closed the door behind her and took off her jacket and shirt. She pulled the dress on and looked at herself in changing rooms full length mirror… She had to admit, it was cheep and cheesy, something in the back of Dixie’s mind told her that it was cute and started listing profiles of people it would attract.

“I really am stuck on Babs,” Dixie muttered to herself since her first thought was of Barbara’s reaction and what accessories she would like Dixie to wear, “Some Hooker Boots and opera gloves would look good with this…”

*

Dixie giggled as she clinged to Barda’s Arm.

“… It turned out that the clerk already had a boyfriend!” Dixie finished the story.

“So both of you were dead wrong who he was after,” Kara snickered.

“Turns out he just liked our sense of style,” Dixie said holding on.

“Imagine how much more awkward this would be if you were still Dick,” Barba snapped as she flailed her arm around some more trying to get Dixie off.

“Dick, I know you are taking advantage of the size disparity, but this is supposed to be tumbling exercises,” Diana tried to keep a straight face, “She fact you have Barda in an arm bar, but can’t hurt her doesn’t mean we are timing how long you can keep on her… I am giving you until the count of five before Barda gets throw punches.”

“Alright,” Dixie let go and jumped to the floor.

Only Barda quickly snatched Dixie and tossed her across the gym floor.

“Fuck!” Dixie shouted.

Kara, Barda, Dixie and Diana were all clad in gym wear while Artimis was clad in a cloth toga with the belt of a master Wrestler. Artimis watched as Dixie and landed and redirected and got up ready to get back into a fighting stance. The Amazon Captain watched without comment.

“Now Kara,” Diana called.

Dixie and Kara charged at each other and Kara checked Dixie sending her flying off the blonde. Dixie rolled and got back up.

“You are getting better,” Artimis said, “But the Bat is correct, you need more practice.”

*

Dixie and Barbara sat in slinky little black silk cocktail dresses sitting opposite Selina in a purple slit dress. The drinks were double digit a glass, and the men were all wearing suits with ties.

“Well, this is something I didn’t think I would be doing four nights ago,” Selina smiled as she sipped her cosmo.

“So what are we doing here?” Dixie asked.

“Casing and profiling,” Selina smiled, “Married director at a investment firm, looking for a young man.”

“I recognize him,” Barbara looked at a man in a brown suit with a blonde haired woman in a green dress at his side, “Head of Daget Electronics.”

“Yes,” Selina said, “And the arm warmer is a full service professional date, half million a night for an opera and the after show is included.”

“Wait…” Dixie looked at the couple.

“Yes, his name is Rodger and he loves to make his dates his bois while wearing his finest lingerie…” Selina smiled.

“So how was your day?” Tim asked as he poured the glass of water.

Dixie looked up at her adopted younger brother.

“Any reason why Garfield is sending me Shania Twain’s Man I feel like a woman every five minutes?” Dixie asked.

It was clear that Tim was trying to suppress a laugh but was doing a bad job of it from the comical look on his face.

“What?” Tim asked.

“Come on, Garfield is one of your buddies in the Titans,” Dixie said.

“Do you really think I hang out with him I can avoid it?” Tim shrugged, “I got Cass and Steph here, and Jamie is a lot more fun.”

Dixie’s phone rang again. Tim and Dixie looked at each other for a minute. Dixie looked at the phone and read the message.

“Well that explains that head ache,” Dixie put her phone down and then put her back down on the counter of the kitchen island.

“What?” Tim asked.

“Kori texted to say sorry for letting Garfield know I am no longer the Main Man…” Dixie groaned.

Tim reached over and looked at the message.

“Damn bro…” Tim said, “She sounds like she is in mourning over the loss of your manhood.”

“She loved my little friend more than just about any man on this planet,” Dixie said.

“You know, you still haven’t answered my initial question,” Tim leaned on the counter.

What does tomorrow bring?
