"Mr. Mathers caught me running in the hallway this morning and told me to report here," she said. Running in the hallway was a common infraction caused by students being late for class.

"Ah, I see," said Garrett. "What's your name, miss?"

"Give me one second," Garrett looked up the girl in his computer database, which included a list of every punishment that the students had received in the past.
