You find out what Velvet actually needs the key for.

Though you're still devastated that you ended up locked into some kind of computerized chastity belt, you're ecstatic that you finished your mission. Assuming, of course, that the keys jingling in your pocket aren't completely unrelated, your rescuing them should cement you and Velvet as best friends for life. Or at least until you graduate and turn back into a boy.

With your phone in hand, you text her "Found them!" You keep walking back toward the center of campus, but after only about a minute your phone starts ringing. "Hello?" You answer.

"Really!? You found it?" Velvet's voice cries out in excitement over the phone.

"Yep! I found a whole bunch of little keys in her office. One of them must be the one."

"Can you bring them all over to my dorm right now, then? Please it's really important!"

"Got it. I'm on my way."

"Thanks, Lauren. I really owe you one." Velvet shares her building and room number. You aren't sure which building that is, but you head to the cluster of residence halls to find it. You don't spot it immediately, but you keep searching and find one last residence hall a ways away, partially isolated from the rest of campus. You head inside and note that there seem to be a few more amenities on the base level.

In your dorm building, there is a large open room just after the entrance with some tables and couches to use for lounging, studying, eating, whatever you need. But it doesn't have much else. In this building, however, there are a few rows of computer labs, and some individual study rooms are present as you walk along the hallway. Eventually, you find a stairwell and head up to Velvet's floor. You knock on her door and she quickly opens it and ushers you inside.

You're not immediately impressed by the dorm room. Does an 18-year-old girl really live here? Of course, you don't have the most decorated room either, and what is there is mostly from Emily. Velvet looks excited to see you though, her orange hair is pulled back into a simple ponytail and she's wearing an oversized sweater. A strange choice of apparel for a hot summer day like this, you think.

"Do you have it?" She asks you.

"What, not even a 'hi Lauren' or 'good morning' or 'thanks for nearly getting caught lifting keys from your roommate?'" You jest.

"She's not my roommate. Not anymore. As of this morning, I transferred to another room. But you're right, thanks for helping me out here."

You giggle half-heartedly and plop the key ring into her hand as she gets nearly wide-eyed at the number of keys. There are at least a dozen by your count. "So, should we start trying these out on your lockbox?"

"Oh, umm..." She looks away and you think you see her start to blush. "That's okay, I can try them out later."

"Well, I need to replace them so Olivia doesn't realize they're missing. We need to figure out which is which as soon as possible."

"Well, I uh..." It takes her a second to think. "I can try them now but..." She pauses again. "Look, it's not a lockbox that I need unlocked. Well, it is in a metaphorical sense, so it's not like I lied to you, but..." She looks defeated. "Fine. If you keep it a secret, I guess I can show you."

Intrigued, you watch as Velvet lifts the hem of her shirt, just enough that you see a piece of metal snake up out of her pants and wrap around her waist. No way, is she really locked in a chastity belt too?

"It's called a chastity belt," Velvet tells you. "I can't get it off without the key, and it blocks off access to my, you know. It goes down between my legs but I'm not pulling down my pants to show you that part, okay?" You didn't really need to be filled in at this point, but you understand the situation better now. Did Olivia really lock up someone brand new to being a girl? Has Velvet ever even been able to touch herself so far? Assuming she is another X-Change tester like you, anyway. Though you doubt someone could get tricked into a chastity belt if they weren't new to being a girl.

"Holy shit..." You try to act like this is a new thing to you.

"So can I try the keys now?"

"Yeah, of course."

You find a seat facing away from Velvet as she tries the keys on the belt, one at a time. Only the occasional scratching of metal on metal breaks the silence as you wait for her success. At least, you hope one of those keys you brought works.
