What's next?
Tension at dinner
As we came down from the blissful afterglow of our mutual orgasims, a tension filled the air that was so thick it was palpable.
As it turned out, I had lost the bet and yet I was still feeling pretty good. Callum on the other hand, looked like he was about to explode and kill somebody. I don't think he'd expected Sarah to twist his chance to get into bed alone with her into what she had, but I mean neither would I have.
She excused herself to the bathroom to clean up and Callum came storming after her. I could make out the sounds of their hushed argument, dripping with tension. It made me feel like a child, listening to his parents arguing when they thought he couldn't hear them.
But no, that wasn't right. Callum Sarah's husband, I was going to be. A few days ago I might have said I knew everything about Sarah, but it was so clear to me now how wrong I'd been! I think for some people, a revelation like that might be disheartening. That they might worry about what they discover about the person they thought they knew fully.
I didn't see it that way at all.
To me, knowing how much there was still to learn and discover with and about Sarah got my heart racing! Our marriage together wouldn't be a stagnant, rote, life. It could be filled with suprise, excitment and a constant evolution of who we were! I wasn't scared about what aspects of Sarah I would uncover, even if she herself was ashamed of them, because I loved her.
'True love' had always seemed like a reductive term to me, but here and now I could understand the sentiment. Every minute she spent without my ring in her finger felt wrong to me. Passed down from my Grandfather to me years ago, the simple gold ring tipped with a diamond was hidden under our bed. The timing wasn't great but it had to be tonight. I just couldn't wait any longer.
The bathroom door swung open as the pair walked out, heading straight to the kitchen. I expected Callum to look just as dour but his mood seemed to have improved and he was back to looking like his smug cook self. Sarah looked a little on edge, flashing me an apologetic smile as they walked by.
Callum wrapped an arm around her, pulling her against him as they walked passed me. Before they disappeared into the kitchen I caught a flash of his eyes looking back at me. Like a wolf, warding you off from its territory. I could see the statement he was trying to make, 'Back off, she's mine'. It was such a childish play that didn't scare me at all, not when I knew what was comming tonight.
I didn't care what he was up to. Instead my thoughts lingered on what I would say to Sarah. How I could make her know that, however she felt about herself, I would always love her. How I could truly convey the gravity and depth of that love.
"Are, Mhm." Sarah spoke, taking a second to level the anxiety from her voice. "Are you hungry Liam?"
"Yeah." I replied, my mind still half deep in thought. "Dinners ready right?"
"Uhhh, it'll just be a few more minutes..." She paused for a moment before she began speaking again, sounding almost out of breath as she did. "Guaahh, ahh, we've just got to add the last bit of sauce."
"Great." I said, almost forgetting to add. "Thanks for making it."
"The pleasure is all ours." Callum replied for her.
I barely registered the words as my mind moved in a hundred directions. What to say, what to wear, what time to do it. I knew I was overhinking it, but I couldn't help but brim with a nervious excitment. What kind of wedding would we have? Who would we invite? It was all stuff I'd already thought about before, but somehow now it all seemed more real.
"Sorry about the wait but it's ready now." Sarah said, carrying my bowl to me while rubbing her jaw.
I didn't think it had been that long but looking at the time about twenty minutes had passed! How much more work had it needed after she'd already said it was ready?
Callum sat across from us and started ravenously devouring his bowl, he did look a little drained so I guess he was just as hungry as I was. Sarah sat down next to me, sitting partly on my lap and partly on the arm of the chair.
Rather thsn just hand me the bowl she began to spoon feed me, watching intently as I took the first bite into my mouth.
"Do...do you like it?" She asked, that nervous tone still hanging on her voice. I knew she was still worried about what she'd said earlier, admitting she thought she was 'fucked up'. I wanted to comfort her now but I would save it for the big moment.
"I love it." I said, more to her than the food I was still chewing. I was begining to notice a strsnge taste though. She might have added to much salt, or something creamy into it? Thinking back, what had they said about it needing a sause?
"What's that extra taste on it?"
"It's, uhh"
"Special sauce, family recipe." Callum interrupted Sarah, watching me glup down the spoonful with a wide grin. "I always have some on me."
Sarah was swallowing her own bite, and I could tell she was savouring the taste of it.
"I just love how it tastes, I might even be addicted." She admitted, feeding me more of it. "Is that alright? Is it OK for me to be addicted to the taste of Callum's cream?"
She couldn't have been feeling too bad if she was still teasing me like that. Phrasing it in that dirty way to excite me. And extra concentrated glob hit my tongue and for a moment I wondered. I'd never tasted cum before, but this texture and and slight warmth to it....
No, Sarah's words were just getting to me. I mean for one thing I had just heard the guy cum not even half an hour ago. It just wasn't physically possible for him to be ready again.
We ate in a reserved silence as i left her question unanswered, Callum finishing two bowls while me and Sarah finished up ours. The tastes was odd at first, but I grew to like it as Sarah seemed intent on feeding me the parts that had the most on it.
I thought more about her words, and the meaning behind them. If things like this morning, or last night were going to be a constant thing. If Sarah didn't just want attention and to mess around with any guys, but with Callum specifically. Would that be a deal breaker for me?
No. I, I wasn't sure I'd be perfectly okay with it, but I don't think there way anything that would turn me away from marrying Sarah at this point. But in a way, was that a bad thing? It felt like a 'real man' shouldn't even entertain the thought of something like that, like this was some big test I was failing.
Was it really fair to ask to marry her if I couldn't provide Hewitt everything she needed?
"I'm heading out for a little." Sarah said, putting on some shoes. "I won't be too long."
"Where are you going?" I asked. She wouldn't meet my eyes as she got ready, grsbing her bag and putting on a coat.
Callum wasn't saying anything but he had a smug knowing look. Fuck, I wish I had listened harder to their hushed argument.
She stood at the threshold, turning her head back but keeping her eyes to the ground.
"Wait up for me." She said. Walking out into the moonlight.
Leaving me alone with Callum and my thoughts. I didn't like the idea of either right now.
But Callum seemed in a better mood after his earlier tantrum. I needed advice, some perspective, and unfortunately he was my only option.
Tell Callum about the proposal?

Can't we let him stay?
It'll only be for a day or two, right?
Finally moving in with his long time girlfriend, their first night together is interrupted by a familiar face who needs a place to stay...
