Yes, Don’t Mention The Lines

“Sure, I’m fine with that. Do you know where it is from here?” You ask.

“Obviously, that was the first thing I looked for on the map when I got here.” Emily tells you. You slightly laugh and sigh which attracts her attention. “What? Food is like the most important thing on earth.” She adds. She’s not wrong, but for some reason you find it a bit funny hearing her say it like that.

“Just the way you phrased it I guess. Like you didn’t care about the classrooms or the mobile store or the dorm rooms but the eating areas came first.” You say back. She looks up at you with a look of some level of shock that you don’t think the same way.

“You can’t tell me the first thing you didn’t think about after getting assigned was food. That’s always the number one!” Emily exclaims as she starts picking up the tempo of her walk being motivated by the idea of getting ready to find a food spot. You want to ask her how she manages to stay in such great shape and keep her body healthy and everything when she’s seemingly so food motivated, but you decide to pass in case she’d find that somewhat offensive and walk quietly with her to the closest food area.

“What type of things do you normally like to eat?” You ask her as you walk after a few minutes. She smiles brightly at your question, clearly pleased that you asked her that.

“Depends on the day. I’m not picky overall like I like a lot of things, but I don’t like every thing on every day, ya know? Like one day I’ll eat totally healthy and go for salads and plant based meals and the next I’ll want pasta or something and like 2 days from that I’ll want something like a soup. So like, each day I’m pretty picky but I like a lot of options overall. If that makes sense.” She says rambling a little bit and talking a little bit faster clearly energized by the discussion. It’s not that she was starting to get tired or bored or anything before, but you could clearly tell her excitement was rising.

“Are you expecting something good here? Like, it’s still a school, right?” You ask as she laughs.

“Clearly you’re not prepared or researched on this. So, here the Culinary classes make the food every day. I don’t know what it’s going to be today since Culinary Classes obviously haven’t started yet, but I would have to imagine it’s something that’s taken very seriously. It’s going to be something good regardless even if it’s simpler this week until things really get going.” Emily says excitedly.

After a couple more minutes of walking, you arrive at one of the food hubs, as you start thinking about what you want to eat yourself now that you’ve arrived.
