Chapter 13

How does Kevin's turn go?
Kevin’s II Turn (Equivalent Exchange, Player’s Choice, Rumor Milled)
“I end my turn. Now hurry up and draw so I can change out of these clothes, and if you’re up for it, we can try out my new tool together,” Oscar said to Kevin while rearranging his junk that now strained his too-long pants.
Kevin embarrassedly reached for his first card; as Kevin grabbed the card, its color changed to green, and his Chimera Token flew six spaces forward.
“Equivalent Exchange: Players can trade cards with each other if the total number of spaces moved on the traded cards is equivalent. Negative value cards can only be traded for an equivalent value of negative cards. Permanent cards and zero-cost cards are untradeable. Trades are only acknowledged at the beginning of the next round after the trade, with only trades that affect the cardholder automatically being applied. Move six. Draw twice from the Main Deck,” Kevin read, relieved until he knew he had to draw two more cards.
“Ugh,” Keving groaned as he reached for another card from the main deck.
“Player’s Choice: The player gets more control over the next card they draw; whether it's to decide the change caused by a card or activation depends on the card. Move zero. Combines with the next card and changes move to one,” Kevin read.
Kevin looked towards Ralph, relieved about the card’s effects but wanted to know more.
“That’s a good one. It can save you from a random change, allow you to prevent a card from activating, or select when a card activates. However, it doesn’t have much effect on event cards and only works on your next card,” Ralph quickly explained to Kevin.
“One more,” Kevin muttered as he grabbed his third card.
As he did so, the Player’s Choice card glowed and disappeared.
“Rumor Milled {Player’s Choice}: Rumors about the player that the player wants to become true become true while the others stay rumors. You become aware of rumors about you when they become widespread. Move one,” Kevin read, relieved that he drew the Player’s Choice card earlier.
“I end my turn,” Kevin said, sighing in relief.
