Inmate Krissy

The patrol car's tires crunched on the gravel as it made its way into town. The bright lights of the police station neared, casting an eerie glow on the streets. Krissy looked out the window, her heart racing, her mind a whirlwind of thoughts. The humiliation she felt was almost unbearable. The coolness of the car's backseat made her shiver, and she wished that she could at least pull her tattered clothes closer around her.

The car pulled into the police station parking lot, coming to a halt outside the front entrance. Officer Davis switched off the engine and turned to look at Krissy, his face unreadable. "Stay put," he said, his tone neutral.

He exited the car and entered the station, leaving Krissy alone in the backseat. She sat in horrified silence.

Minutes later, Officer Davis returned with another male officer. Officer Martinez, as indicated by his name tag, was a tall man with a stern face. He opened the car door, allowing Krissy to step out.

"Come with me," Officer Martinez said gruffly. He took Krissy's arm, leading her into the station. Krissy glanced at Officer Davis, but he avoided her gaze, his face still blank.

Inside, the cold fluorescent lights made Krissy feel even more exposed. There were a few officers around, and they looked up when she entered. Many of them stared openly at the nearly naked girl as she stumbled through the station.

Officer Martinez guided her to a small room where she could change into an inmate uniform. Afterward, she was taken to a holding cell. The cell was small and barren, with a metal bed and a toilet in the corner.

As the hours passed, Krissy replayed the events of the evening in her mind. What had led her to this point? How had she ended up in such a compromising situation? The feeling of shame was overwhelming.
