"I don't have to listen to you!"

"It's... It's nothing!"

Bubbling up from inside of him Luke shouted back at his mother. A astonished look smeared across her face, as Luke stood in both equal parts shock and agitation. Where on earth was this feeling coming from.

"How dare you speak to me that way!" Arm reaching out his mother's pause was over, fury swiftly returned.

Dodging out of her reach Luke filled with frustration from the day. Nothing had gone as he'd imagined, he'd just let himself fall into the flow as he always did. Not here though, not now.

"I don't have to listen to you!"

Crying out the words he dashed past his mother and up the stairs to his room. Mrs. Caller after a moments delay rushed after, only to have a door slammed into her face.

"OPEN THIS DOOR!"

"LUKE! I AM YOUR MOTHER!"

"WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE SOME LITTLE TOUGH MAN!"

"YOUR FATHER WOULD NEVER DO SOMETHING LIKE THIS! BE GLAD HE ISN'T HERE TO SEE YOU NOW!"

"OPEN THIS DOOR! NOW!"

Fists smashing against the door, handle shaking vigorously, Luke bared his head under his pillow. He didn't have to listen to her anymore right?
