Soccer warm-up: calisthenics with Mars and Valentine

Daphne sent an email earlier today, saying that practice is starting half an hour late, asking everyone to get warmed up first. After changing into your kit, you text Mars and Valentine to find out where they’re warming up. The response comes quickly—your two friends are at the gym, warming up in one of the multi-function rooms.

They’re both dressed in sports bras that accentuate their busts, Mars doing jumping jacks while Val is going through a set of lunges. You’ve never appreciated calisthenics as much as you do now. What a gorgeous figure these girls strike.

“Are you going to stare the whole time or are you going to join us for a warm-up?” Valentine laughs, holding her side as she gets up from her final lunge.

“I was just thinking,” you say, trying to find an excuse. “Why are we in here today? I thought you liked the weights machines.”

“We do,” Mars says, shooting Val a mock glare. “But we’re in here so we can strategize.”

“Strategise? For what?” you ask, looking at the two girls. It feels like they’re up to something, and knowing Val, they probably are. But what?

“Look at his expression, that’s a million bucks right there,” Val laughs, pointing at you. “Come on, join us for squats and I’ll spill the tea.”

You get into line with the two girls, squatting in sync with them, only peeking a little at their tight bums through the mirror.

“Remember the wing-girl agreement?” Val says, and you nod. “Well, I’ve got a guy.”

“A couple of guys, actually,” Mars says. “I’ve just been running interference for you, Alex, so that your phone isn’t constantly blowing up. Every hot dude we come across, Val is wondering whether you can help her snag him.”

“Well, this guy’s special, he’s really hot,” Val says. “And I’ve got a plan that requires the perfect wing-man.”

“She’s been staring at him at the gym every day this last week. She’s obsessed with the way he lifts weights,” Mars says. “Which is why we’re in here, so that he won’t overhear us.”

“Okay, tell me what’s up,” you say. “What’s the plan?”

“Dylan—that’s the guy’s name—he’s a frat bro, and he’s hot as hell. He’s got a white knight streak too,” Val says. “So that’s the plan. I figure if you can make a move on me and I act like you’re making me real uncomfortable, he’ll swoop in to save me. Then it’ll be all smooth sailing from there…”

You look at Mars and she looks back at you, shrugging.

“Okay, I’ll have to give this one a think,” you say, finishing up your last squat. “Other people are going to watch me do that. I don’t know if I want that kind of reputation, you know?”

“Remember the promise! If you do this, I’ll help you get a girl,” Valentine says. “C’mon, there must be somebody you’re chasing.”

“Got it, you find this guy really hot,” you say. “Give me one more set and I’ll let you know.”
