Dawning

Walt sighed as Penny said, "that was loud."

"Sorry," Demona said after her transformation and Penny took her hand. "No don't be! It does not seem pleasant for you either! Walt?"

Walt nodded as he settled back on the sleeping bags Penny had brought... she really had come prepared. "I have been working on researching a few things hoping to change that for her... the problem is it's fay magic. It's not "impossible" but it is difficult without using other fay or the original fay who enchanted her."

Demona blinked. "You've been looking into that?"

Walt nodded. "Yeah for a while. It would be easier to mod you somehow but I didn't think you'd appreciate being tampered with further. I wanted to try to find you as many options as possible. Some of the others have been helping out like your bunkhouse mates and especially team "library club". Nobody likes hearing or seeing you in pain twice a day, Demona. Nobody here wants that for you."

Demona looked so stunned it was like she'd turned to stone like a normal gargoyle instead of a human. "I... had no idea any of you were doing that. Why didn't you tell me?"

Walt and Penny blinked. "Would you have trusted us if we told you saying we wanted to do research on you to help you before?"

Demona nodded while crossing her arms and thinking about the various other villains and mad scientists from her series. "Good point. I likely would not have."

"And with good reason," Walt said.

Penny was looking Demona over in her naked human form in the dawn light. "You know... I have thought this for awhile but as pretty as your human form is Demona you are a much lovelier gargoyle by far."

"Right?" Walt said. "That's what I have been saying! I'm so glad you agree Penny."

Demona blushed. "You both have odd tastes... good but odd."

Penny sighed. "Well... I suppose the night is over. We should wash up and go help with breakfast." She kissed Walt's cheek and then Demona's. "I hope we can do this again very soon!"

Demona nodded blushing, "I do too... but please remember to keep it secret."

Penny nodded as she began picking up their things and getting ready to clean up and start the day. "Understood. For how long though?"

Demona blinked watching Walt help Penny before joining in. "What do you mean how long? They should never find out."

Penny looked thoughtful. "I do not mind trying to keep your secret as long as possible but "forever" seems unlikely. Someone is bound to notice eventually. Weeks, months or years may go by but eventually someone is bound to find out or figure it out with deductive reasoning. That is how it is in family units, isn't it?" She starts to climb into the bath. "People will be suspicious of Walter and I disappearing from Party cleanup but we can tell them we were together and that is kind of true. *Hic*"

Demona gets in with her followed by Walt. "Do you have the hiccups?"

Walt smirks. "Penny has a tic where she hiccups when she tells a falsehood."

Demona stares. "What? Why am I just hearing about this now?!"

"Because you didn't ask," he said. "Relax. It's a big "tell" but she'll do her very best to keep your secret as a friend."

Penny nodded clenching her fists. "I will do my best to keep your secret!"

Demona looked at her. "And you're confident in your ability that no one will figure it out?"

Penny paused a moment and then nodded. "I am! *Hic*... I will do my best!" She repeated.

Demona groaned. "Well that's just great... I suppose that's true that someone will find out someday. I just... what will people say when they find out?"

"Congratulations?" Penny asked.

"We're happy for you?" Walt added.

Demona sighed and sank deeper into the hot water. "I'll be a laughing stock... the human hating gargoyle who fell to a human cock!"

"Anyone who says that to your face will have a hardtime saying anything else after I knock out their teeth," Walt growled.

Demona smiled. Most human males, or gargoyle ones for that matter, would be proud of that. Many would be struting and crowing like a rooster... but not him. He really was an exceptionally good mate! It made her feel good inside.

"I admit I don't quite understand why that is bad if it is true," Penny said but nodded. "But it is not whole truth! And judging by Walt's reaction that means the hypothetical person in this scenario was saying it only to be mean... and the thought of that gives me personal feelings!" She clenched her fist.

Demona started laughing. She was a bit crazy but just as excellent a friend and mate. She laughed some more and sees them staring at her and she shakes her head. "I just thought of something. Pay me no mind." *A heroine, an anti-hero and a villainess visit the hotsprings,* she thought. *It's a bad joke setup and the punchlines obviously "I'm in hot water now!"... and definitely not accurate to this particular situation or the people involved in it. But maybe... maybe that's okay too... maybe that'll give me something to talk to people about at Villain-anon... no, then the others will figure it out for sure. Some of the most perceptive of us are there after all.* she blinked. *Wait "Us"?*

"Demona can I scrub your back?" Penny asked.

Walt smiled. "Oh. When we're done let me comb your hair, ladies!"

Demona smiled and nodded. "Sounds good to me..." *Yes... "us".*
