Arnold pulled up to the address and was shocked to see the fanciest house he had ever seen. He pulled up and there was a gate. He lowered the window and said. “Hello, I’m Arnold. I accepted the babysitting job on SitterSearch.”
The gate opened and Arnold drove inside. He saw a man and a woman standing outside waiting, he figured they must be the parents and approached.
“Hello, Arnold,” the man said. “I’m Kenneth Baker. I’m the father of Jenny. This is Caroline, my wife. We’re going out of town for the weekend. Your main responsibility will be the house and making sure Jenny and her friends are safe.”
“They’re all 18 celebrating the end of their senior year, so they probably won’t need too much help, but I’d rather know my girls are safe with a guy protecting them,” Caroline said.
Arnold nodded. He figured this would be easy enough and the fact that he was getting paid $500 helped a lot. “So there’s a list of what you need to do while I’m gone on the counter. Jenny and her friends are upstairs, but you’ll have plenty of opportunity to introduce yourself. We gotta get going so call me if you need anything,” Kenneth said.
Arnold nodded and headed inside the big house. He found the kitchen and the note on the counter and skimmed over it. It was mostly just regular chores and stuff.
Arnold felt silly bringing all the stuff he had knowing now that the girls he was watching were all adults, but he decided to head upstairs and get settled in the guest bedroom.
