CH2: The Final Retreat

I take aim at Erika. She is about to shoot my friend, I can’t let that happen. I shoot and… I miss. I hit her in the vest and not on her side where I was aiming. Erika seems to notice and goes behind cover before I manage to shoot again. Dammit! I don’t think anyone noticed me shoot but I feel nervous. I am also nervous about Grace but with my poor aim, I can’t help her. I peek back and see Grace charging in on Erika. I hold my breath and see the shorter girl shoot the taller at close range and then pull the rifle out of Erika’s hands. Grace takes her in a hold and presses one of her pistols in Erika’s armpit. I sigh in relief and see Erika putting her hands up. Maybe my help did pay off.

At the same time I see Kendall peek out of the backroom and point a pistol at Grace who shoots at her faster and makes the girl drop her gun and drop on her knees terrified. Grace holds the two of them at the end of her barrels and it doesn’t take long for Calliope’s forces to close in on the remaining two and take them prisoners as well. After Erika and Kendall got defeated, the rest didn’t perform nearly as well and after their morale was gone, soon was their position too. The lasers stop flying and I give up on the thought of shooting Calliope. If I did, I would have to run but after seeing the Recreationists action just now, I would get caught quickly and it would be over for me. I just watch and observe.

Calliope makes her people search the fortress and soon enough Hope and Esme find Korina and Tina. I didn’t want to leave her there, but what other option did I have? I watch as the two are dragged out and Hope starts waking up Korina while Calliope rounds up the four recreationists. She sighs and holds her **** rifle to Erika’s now unprotected back: “Finally. I get it back! Did you know? I found this in the rec room. So in a way it stands to show the power of the Recreationists, wouldn’t you say? So it’s just wrong to let this fall into your hands, I realize that now. This thing also eliminated one of ours. Lorelei. What a shame, really.”

She reloads and aims the gun – she seems to have also taken Erika’s vest and it somehow fits over her massive breasts. I look around and see Grace off to the side crossing her arms and looking at the prisoners. Calliope takes note of her and goes talk with her. I watch in horror as Calliope leans in to hug the girl and wrap her arms around her.

“Oh, yes! For the memory of Lorelei, my new special operation agent shall be Grace! She did such a good job! If it wasn’t for her, we wouldn’t have gotten this victory.” She looks down at Grace who crosses her arms again and looks aside. “It also looks like we nearly missed Lilah. The bitch who eliminated Sam. And she seems to be running again! She remains as our number one enemy! She nearly eliminated Korina! We have to get her! But tonight, we are the winners!”

Her teammates cheer and Calliope goes hug them one at a time. “Oh, Calliope. How can we thank you?” Esme asks and Calliope shakes her head and Hope seems excited too. I am not sure what to think. Looking at the retreaters I feel bad. Kendall is crying her eyes out while Erika tries to comfort her. The other two also don’t look too happy and are leaning on each other. Tina is still passed out and is lying on the side. They get Korina awake and it seems her other eye is still hurting and Calliope’s team goes to help her. It's over, they won.
