Night tests.

The entire crew stepped off the elevator car on the third floor.

"Do we need to do a blood test?" Zoe whined.

"Yes, everyone has to give a blood and saliva sample to test for stress biomarkers," Lauren explained as she lead the group towards the medical lab.

"Good night, Jon!" the female crew cheered after Cindy, Jennifer, and Jonathan helped get the blood and saliva samples from each person.

"Good night, ladies," he replied waved back after walking them to the elevator lobby.

"Don't stay up too late with Hane!" Cindy warned after stepping into the elevator car.

"We're just doing EEG tests!" Hane responded defensively.

"Yeah, sure!" Allison taunted with a laugh as the doors closed.

Hane rolled her eyes and headed back towards the medical bay with Jonathan in tow. "How are you feeling?"

"Tired, mentally and physically," he answered. "I almost dozed off a couple times in the theater."

"Are you going to sleep after this?"

"Yeah," he nodded while he laid down on the hospital bed. "How many more EEG tests?"

"This will be the last one for the night," she answered while turning on the electroencephalogram machine.

"For the night?" he wondered while she began hooking up the electrodes to his scalp.

"I'll need to test you tomorrow morning after you wake up," she replied as she leaned over, pressing her huge cleavage against his face. It was obvious to Jonathan that she could have easily walked around the bed to hook up the electrodes on the other side of his head but she intentionally did not. "Oh, excuse me!"

"It's okay..." Jonathan smiled — he was not going to complain about having her breasts smothering his face!

"Again, relax for the next thirty minutes," she said, sitting down in front of the machine and grabbing her tablet, "but try not to fall asleep!"

"Yes, doc,' Jonathan nodded and closed his eyes. He calmed his mind and cleared it of distractions to form mental images of places or situations he found relaxing. His career as a SEAL and as an ER doctor were anything but relaxing so he focused on why he wanted to become an astronaut — he wanted to be in outer space. He found his mental self disembodied from his physical self, floating in the void above the Earth and looking around at the vast infinite number of stars.

In-between checking the EEG monitor and her tablet, Hane would glance over to Jonathan to steal looks at his handsome face or muscular torso that would rise and fall with each slow and controlled breath. Since the day she had met him, she had wondered why someone as intelligent, talented, and attractive as him had not met Ms. Right yet, especially with a typical pushy Chinese mother pressuring him to settle down.

Hane's thoughts wandered about her own mother and inadvertently let out a soft sigh of frustration, immediately hoping that Jonathan did not notice. She recalled her telephone conversations with her mother — she had offhandedly mentioned Jonathan and her mother pounced on it, asking if he was single, how many degrees did he have, how much money did he make as a doctor, and if he could speak Mandarin.

"He speaks Pashto, Russian, and Mandarin, mama," Hane had explained.

"Is he fluent in Mandarin?" her mother asked.

"Yes but with a Cantonese accent, mama," Hane had explained.

"Cantonese?"

"He's Cantonese."

"Oh okay, he is still Chinese so that's fine."

"Mama, he's a colleague!" Hane sputtered.

"And potential husband material!"

"Mama!"

Like Jonathan, Hane did not have much time for relationships during her academic studies while working towards her doctorate and then she was even busier when she was starting her career as a neuroscientist, only to be even more so working at NASA as the deputy project manager. Nonetheless, she was not asexual and did have physical needs, usually satisfied with something that operated with batteries. She then remembered what Kaylee had said earlier that afternoon over coffee: "We are women with needs too!"

Hane checked her wristwatch and then at Jonathan. The half an hour test felt like an eternity while she struggled with the dilemma if she actually would have sex with Jonathan if given she was given the opportunity to. She wanted to remain professional throughout the project but she could not deny her sensual needs as a woman. With fourteen other beautiful women, she knew there would be competition for Jonathan's attention.

She let out a sigh.

"What's wrong?" Jonathan asked.

"Nothing, just time's up," she answered, placing her tablet away before standing up. "You didn't take a nap, I hope?"

"Nope," he replied as she started to take off the electrodes from his scalp — however, this time it was very obvious that Hane was not subtle about pressing her breasts smothering his face.

"How were my readings?" he asked, sliding off the bed.

"Great," she smiled, looking over at the monitor. "Looking at it one couldn't tell you've been up for over forty hours! We'll do one more round of EEG tests after you wake up tomorrow morning."

"Sure but I'll probably wake up after oh five hundred," he nodded followed her out of the medical lab towards the elevator.

"Sleep in until seven like the rest of us!" she giggled.
