“No, my parents couldn’t afford it. And I never needed it anyway.”
He nodded. “I see. That’s important for me to know. Starting now we’ll begin tracking your cycles.”
She blushed. ‘We.’ Her life was truly in his hands. All she could do was nod back.
“For now, meet me in my bedroom in half an hour. There will be a box on your bed. Open it and follow the instructions.”
He stood and walked away. Eliza stayed for a moment, savoring the after dinner coffee that had been placed in front of her before making her way back to her bedroom. Sure enough there was a box on the bed waiting for her. She wondered who had put it there. The staff seemed relatively invisible. Tentatively, she opened it.
