Mallory thought about it for a minute. Part of her wanted to take the opportunity to escape and save herself, but the other part was thinking about her family. She hadn’t found them at home, and who knows maybe they were still out there alive. She had to find out for sure.

Mallory continued glaring at Valerie before turning to look out the window. She watched as they drove past parts of her town. Although Mallory had lived here since was born, everything looked unfamiliar and eerie to her. The town was abandoned of its normal workings and instead resembled a ghost town.
