Hana rolls a 1

Hana’s dice bounces around on the board before finally stopping with only 1 dot face up.

“You’ve got to be kidding me!” Hana shouts in frustration.

“Yikes”

“OOF”

“YOOO, WAIT!” Stephanie yells.

“The first space is purple! We finally got one of the unknown spaces!” Stephanie cheers gleefully.

All of the other girls feel a rock sink in their stomachs. They all have seen what the game’s effects do to a person, and they now feel anxious at the thought of the game doing something TRULY unknown to them. An audible gulp is heard from Hana. Morgana speaks first, “Welp. It was bound to happen at some point, right?”

“Man, why does it have to be me?”

“Shoulda rolled better.”

The girls all look over at the card on top of the deck and see that the backing has turned purple. Hana reluctantly reaches over and pulls out the card before reading the contents written on it.

“The final roll in the round,

Let's see what fate you are bound.

Purple allows you to choose:

Reds, greens, yellows, and blues.”

“Wait, this card is amazing,” Hana says joyously.

“It's a wild card?! That's awesome.”

“So, you can choose the color that you have to deal with.”

“I guess they put a purple spot as the first one for people who have bad rolls and give you a wild card, so it isn’t so punishing.”

“So…what color are you gonna pick?”

Hana puts a finger up to her mouth and puts on her thinking expression.

“I don’t know yet.”

“The options are what? Red, Green, Yellow, and blue?”

“Hold on!” Stephanie interrupts the conversation.

“What about the other colors?”

“What other colors? You mean Pink and Black?”

“YEAH! What if you choose those ones?”

“But the card didn’t say I could choose those colors.”

“But it does say ‘Purple allows you to choose’. It doesn’t say ‘Purple FORCES you to choose.’ Get what I’m saying?”

“Yeah, I guess you have a point.”

“What does everyone think I should choose?”

Morgana answers first, “You should choose red, so we can actually figure out what the effects are, cause Stephanie is no help.”

Nora answers next, “You should choose blue. It seems like it's the least punishing card effect out of the main four.”

Stephanie shouts out her answer, “YOU SHOULD CHOOSE BLACK! IT SEEMS LIKE THE MOST MENACING AND I WANNA KNOW WHAT IT DOES!”

Cammy answers, “You should choose yellow. We know that Morgana got the ‘or’ option of that card, but we haven’t seen the effects of the ‘and’ part of that effect.”

Juliette answers lastly but she gets up and whispers it into her ear, “You should choose green. My effect doesn’t seem as drastic as Cammy’s, and she is still a little upset by the game.”

Hana’s eyes look at Cammy who is staring at the board game with a slight frown. She is holding her card in her hand, fiddling with it like a lost child. Hana nods at Juliette’s response and she takes her place back around the game board.

Hmm. I was gonna pick pink, 'cause that is my favorite color, but the girls all make good points.

Hana stands there pondering all the options that she has.

“I think I will choose…”
