Just A Peek

You and the girls listen intently, the sounds of faint yelling and gunshots have you on edge. Nothing sounds too close to you however. "Should we see what's going on?" Cammie asks.

"We were told to stay here..." Chloe says worriedly.

Cammie seems frustrated. "Just a peek, if something goes wrong we need to be prepared. What if they lose and suddenly we're swarmed by infected?"

Chloe sighs. "That's true..." She sits there for a moment before taking a deep breath. "I'll do it then." She moves quietly to the back of the armored truck. The wide opening makes her feel exposed, so peaking her head out doesn't really worry her any more. She looks around the corner, up to the front of the convoy. Immediately she sees a large group of soldiers aiming their weapons into the woods nearby, occasionally shooting at something she can't see.

Before she pulls her head back, she watches as a naked woman charge a soldier from behind, knocking them down. The man screams before the bimbo plants her lips onto his and grinds herself into his armored pelvic region. The others turn to him and quickly get her off before firing their weapons. Chloe flinches back and almost loses her grip on the truck, but manages to hang on. By the time she steadies herself again and looks at the soldiers again, the male that was attacked is clutching his chest. She can't make out what they're saying but she can hear distinctly higher pitched noises from the man before the others walk him to a truck and throw him inside. She figures since he's someone they already know, they'll take him to try and save him later.

"See anything?" You ask Chloe anxiously. She moves back into the truck and sits down, telling you what she saw. You all decide that besides the man down, they seem to have it under control. And a few minutes later you're met with a confirmation of that fact with Carmen arriving and hopping back into the truck.

Eventually everyone starts moving again, and you all can breathe a sigh of relief. Though as you move further from the spot you were ambushed at, you see a bimbo that was lying on the ground stand up and stare at you. She doesn't move all the way until the road curves and you can't see her anymore. "H-Hey, did you see that?" You ask Carmen.

"See what?" She asks, looking out the back down the road.

"One of them got up."

"Huh... I'm sure it'll be fine, she won't be able to keep up with us."

Later, you find yourself growing tired as nothing really happens. Looking at the trail behind you, rain has begun to fall, wetting the ground and fauna until everything is completely soaked. You close your eyes, drifting off to sleep until Carmen nudges your shoulder to wake you up. "Hey, don't fall asleep on us. We'll be passing through a town soon, we need everyone to be alert."

You look at her dreary eyed. "A town?"

"Yes, once we reach it we'll be close to the base. We're almost there now." She says with a warm smile.

You sit up fully and stretch. "I haven't had the best luck going through towns..." You think back to Alexis, and her getting infected while you moved through a populated area. "Is there another way?"

Carmen shakes her head. "This is the route we had planned, we have to see it through if we want to reach our destination before nightfall."

You give a nervous look to Chloe and Cammie. "Alright..."
