Chapter 37 by Spation Spation

Paying?

Yeah by that newbie cashier

While they were absentmindedly thinking about their situation the shop clerk sneered slightly at the sight of the re-packaged piece of lingerie, but went silent and back to normal once he saw Oz’s stern facial expression looking down on him.

Once out of the store with the large bags carried by Juan, the children wanted to take a look around the mall as well. There was a toy store on the other end of the mall and they hurriedly dragged the adults along there. Their parents had agreed they could go there, if they promise to only have a look at the toys.

Along the way, the children stopped at the entrance to the cinema which was plastered with various movie posters on the walls. Their large smiles and happy mood shifted to disappointment once they saw the sign which read ‘CLOSED’ and with a lot of smaller text explaining the current pandemic and the measures taken against it.

“Oh, if you want to watch a movie just let me know. I have a cinema at home at the farm.” Oz said casually. “We really needed something to keep the workers entertained.” He added.

The children’s eyes sparkled again and looked at their parents who only nodded in agreement. They thought ‘surely, a movie wouldn’t hurt anyone. And it’s right at the farm too…’

Once they reached the toy store, Oz proudly announced:

“All right, everyone take a loooong look around and choose two toys you’d like.”

Maria and Juan felt as if they had gotten even deeper into a non-existent debt to be repaid with services, but once they looked at how happy the children were, they were happy to see them like that too.

Once all of the children had looked through the whole store each of them came back with various toys. The girls had chosen a plushie and a Barbie doll, while the boy got a Rubik’s cube. Oz looked at them and saw that they had not gotten two toys each:

“Are you sure you only want one toy each?” the children nodded to his question. Oz laughed and took a few steps towards the shelves with party games. He knew he had monopoly at home, but nothing for children. He found Twister for the kids and looked a bit further and to his surprise, there was a 16+ version of ‘Dare’ on the higher shelves too, so he got that and went to pay for all of the things by card.

Smile?
