The line was not moving forward and Mai was afraid that it would not make it. That fart had been a warning.

She walked out of line quickly and went as fast as she could toward the school exit.

Mai had wasted a lot of time in line and needed to go home NOW. But she hesitated to succeed if she took the usual path.

The usual path took her about fifteen to twenty minutes, but she knew a shortcut through a small forest that took about ten minutes. However, the forest was a bit dangerous.
