How does the trial go?
Kangaroo court chaos, part 1.
"Order!" the judge declared as the courtroom filled up, and Kazuma was sitting in the Defendant seat. Aqua, Megumin and Darkness were with him to serve as his counsel. Pity he was only allowed three, otherwise the rest of his party would have been with him. Still, they promised to testify as witnesses to his character. "The trial of Defendant Kazuma Sato will now begin!"
Even as his three first party members assured Kazuma to leave his defense to them, Kazuma sat carelessly. It didn't matter how good his defense was, he knew that, his accuser was too petty, too corrupt, and too powerful for any other outcome to be had in this courtroom. So, he was going with Ria's suggestion of making sure it was blatantly spelled out how unjust this was, and make Alderp look foolish before the people, and hopefully start a riot he could use to make his escape.
"So... That's this Lord "Derp" then?" Kazuma asked Darkness, pointing at the man where he sat, making damn well sure he was loud enough to be heard. Lord Alderp was a balding, obese old man who leered over at the party. Or at least he WAS leering... Now he was spluttering, going red in the face in outrage.
"Kazuma!" Aqua tried to chide him, but was having a hard time due to how much of a struggle not getting too preoccupied laughing had become. Indeed, many of the attendees were sniggering, or smothering their laughter at the name Kazuma gave Alderp ."You need to be more respectful! You're not helping your case!"
"The case is beyond help in these circumstances Aqua," Kazuma said carelessly.
Alderp was about to rage at Kazuma, but stopped when he briefly locked eyes with Darkness. "...urgh..." he growled, looking away.
"...what was that about?" Kazuma asked Darkness quizzically.
"Oh, nothing!" Darkness denied.
"I said order!" the judge shouted, banging his gavel.
