Chapter 8 by Arthor Thomarius Arthor Thomarius

What's next?

Warming up with Mars and Venus.

Despite my flashy entrance. I wanted to maintain an air of mystery for a time. Let the people speculate about the origins of the 36 tetrahedrons the intentions of the intelligence that put up the perimeter **** fields. Give them time to speculate, that way the reality of their situation will not seem as awful as the boogie men they imagined for themselves.
That is not to say that we did nothing. Our agents were hard at work infiltrating vital government and corporate institutions and replacing key figures with replicants. We gathered intelligence on the strengths and weaknesses of these people while putting out our own propaganda on social media. Some of it was specifically designed to exaggerate worst case scenarios, setting up straw men for netizens to push over while also putting out theories of optimism.

While that was going on on Earth. Venus and Mars were getting a very different treatment. In this universe. Venus is a verdant paradise inhabited by a race of sexy amphibious blue humanoids who maintain a primitive lifestyle moving between land and sea on the countless small and medium sized islands that dotted the planets vast world ocean. Mars was still a red planet, but a red planet with a breathable atmosphere and a race of six limbed green and crimson humanoids who lived in the ancient cities of the dying world which lingers on thanks to the power of their ancient machines.

When it came to Venus, I simply told my forces to make themselves at home. Spread out, build cities and settlements and transform Venus into a tourist destination. Hunting wild Venusians became such a popular sport among my soldiers that there was talk about making sure to leave some of the islands protected habitats and limiting the numbers of blue boys and girls that could be taken from those areas in a given season.

When it came to Mars, I wanted to give my soldiers practice in lightning warfare. I ordered them to strike hard and fast. Liquidate the planet with no mercy. Take every man, woman, and child on the planet and bring them to the holding cells in the depths of The Tetra.
The martians resisted with tenacity. Their rifles armed with atomic rounds that could snipe a target from miles away. Their carbines capable of devastating fusion blasts at short range. Their swords capable of slicing through steel. Yet, for all of that. the martian weaponry was useless against the personal shield generators that even the lowliest of my soldiers wore as a matter of course, to say nothing of the actual shield projectors which some of my troops carried into battle as an alternative to a second weapon.

The martians would dig in and lay down massive amounts of fire only to have mostly naked soldiers with skin of bronze being led by officers with skin of silver commanded by generals with skin of gold walk through the hail of fission and fusion being thrown at them as if it were rain drops bouncing off invisible raincoats. The occasional martian got lucky in close quarters. The personal shields did operate on Dune rules. A well placed knife attack could get the better of the occasional bronze that got sloppy and allowed themselves to be ambushed and overwhelmed. But my boys and girls were armed with the energies of destruction. They blasted their way through fortifications with ease and it was not long before the kings and queens of the martian cities began asking for terms of surrender.
