Dinner.

"Look who finally arrived!" Allison shouted out when Jonathan and Hane, both dressed in t-shirts and sweatpants, entered the dining hall and approached the tables pushed together so everyone could all eat as a group.

"You're here just in time," Cindy reassured the two as she brought her mapo tofu dish over to the tables.

"That smells great!" Jonathan said, sitting down at the reserved seat at one end of the table while Hane sat nearby next to Lauren.

"Thanks, Jon," Cindy smiled at his compliment. "It's my mom's recipe!"

"So what's for dinner?" Jonathan asked, looking down the dining table at the dishes that Kaylee and Cindy had set out.

"Definitely not pancakes and bacon!" Crystal giggled. "No offense, Jon."

"None taken," he smiled politely.

"As the project's personal chef, I'm happy to have made for you some of my favorite Cantonese dishes taught from my mom and grandma using the fresh ingredients while we have them!" Kaylee announced as she walked down the table to display the food she had prepared on all afternoon. "Beef chow fun, sweet and sour pork, bok choy with oyster sauce, choy sum with garlic, and eggs with shrimp."

Everyone cheered and complimented Kaylee and Cindy for their dishes.

"Sihk faahn!" Kaylee chirped as she sat down. "Let's eat!"

"This is so good!" Jennifer said after tasting the mapo tofu.

"Thank you, Jen!" Cindy smiled and glanced over at Jonathan. "What do you think, Jon?"

"It's great!" he smiled after taking a bite of her dish. "It's way better than my cooking. Maybe you can teach me."

"Oh, definitely!" Cindy smiled back.

"Oh, I can do cooking classes if anyone is interested," Kaylee offered and several people nodded with interest with mouths stuffed with food.

The group chitchatted as they happily ate, talking about their projects, and slowly the dishes became empty plates. Cindy offered Jonathan the last of the mapu tofu and he initially tried to politely decline but after seeing the look of disappointment on her face he gladly accepted.

"What's everyone's plans after dinner?" he asked after finishing his bowl of rice.

"A movie, of course!" Zoe piped up. "I've spent a lot of time setting up the entertainment server for the theater!"

"So no napping?" he winked.

"I hope you don't have food coma," Hane smirked, "because we still need to do more EEG tests!"

Jonathan shook his head as he stood up to help clear the table.
