Your searching was rewarded with a furry black pokemon leaping out to face you. {if Poocheyna==1}You chuckled, noticing at once how similar this poochyena looked to Champ, but also little differences in both how it held itself and its fur patterns.{else}It was another poocheyna, like the one you had fought back at the start of your journey.{endif}

You gestured for Wally to move up next to you, and he did so, remembering a moment later to send out the pokemon your father had lent him.

You were half expecting one of his slakoths, so the zigzagoon was a bit of a letdown. Then again, for an inexperienced trainer, a slakoth would be far too lazy. They needed a trainer that knew how firm to be when giving them orders and one that could give them the orders enough in advance that their slow actions would end up timed right. So maybe a zigzagoon wasn't a bad idea.{if May Travel==1}

May took a step back to let you handle the instructions.{endif}

"Alright, Wally, you need to start by weakening the poochyena."

"Right." He gave several quick nods. "Zigzagoon, use tackle!"

The borrowed zigzagoon ran forwards and slammed into the poochyena, doing some damage but getting bit for its efforts.

"Now throw the pokeball." You instructed. It looked weak enough that the pokeball should catch it with just a little battling first.

Wally threw the pokeball, and the poochyena disappeared into it. The ball shook three times, then clicked.

You walked over and picked up the pokeball, then handed it to Wally. "Good job! You caught your first pokemon."

Wally grinned, then held the pokeball over his head. "Yes! It's my first pokemon! Thank you!" He lowered the pokeball and held it tightly. "Let's go back to the gym."{if May Travel==1}
