Internship

Sue had given me a larger lab that had taken up one whole floor filled with the latest tech of this world. That isn't to say it is not impressive but considering that the fact that I've seen better in a Prime world high school says a hell of a lot. I would be hard-pressed to make a decent FTL drive if I tried not saying it wasn't possible. Honestly, though I could care less about the equipment as I wasn't planning to stay here forever in this dimension in the first place. My main goal was to not die so I wouldn't see my life insurance agent. (My goal everywhere I go)

I should have been suspicious that it was so cheap and offered so much but I was broke then barely enough for an apartment. So seeing such cheap insurance I immediately signed up now even with the money I couldn't leave this particular insurance if I tried. That is because the insurance company was fake and I had signed a deal with a Daedric Prince and not just any Daedric Prince but Sheogorath himself. Needless to every time I used his service it was never predictable.

My troubles aside, it was finally time to meet my prospective interns that applied. It wasn't a hard selection as I selected to meet all of the girls I mentioned earlier as well as a few others. I went out of my way randomly picked a few boys to interview so the bias wouldn't be so apparent. Of course, none of the guys would pass as I had no intention of hiring them in the first place if they somehow impressed others along the way good for them if not I didn't care. With all that in mind, it was finally time to meet the intern candidates. The first was a rich young master type that seemed that even with so much the world still owed him more type attitude.

Rich Young Master(RYM): This interview is merely a formality as no one arrived for the interview other than myself that is qualified to be here and you just barely meet the standard of someone allowed to teach me!

Antonio: You know that you just said all that out loud right?

RYM: I'm just stating the facts honestly If Reed Richards or Tony Stark ever offered an internship directly under them I wouldn't be here!

Antonio: So what you are saying is that you are lowering your standards by coming here as a better option doesn't exist at the moment?

RYM: If you understand then we can finish this quickly

Antonio: You made yourself perfectly clear allow me to expedite the process by letting you know now that you didn't get the position

RYM: Excellent... wait what?!

The foolish idiot couldn't believe that I had told him. At first, he was confused still trying to process that he was rejected then he became angry making various threats. I was wholly surprised as I was sure that I was in a Marvel universe yet somehow I had encountered a xiania young master in the wild. I wondered if he still counted as a Kevin (male Karren) and what was the difference between a young master and a Kevin.

The next three candidates were nothing special so it was easy to deal with their interviews. The fourth never thought they could get this far and was a super fan as the medi-gel saved his sister after she was in a car crash. Finally, I met one of the ladies that had a guaranteed spot, Gwen Stacy.

Gwen: Oh my gosh you're the interviewer?!

Antonio: I would assume so as there is no one else here

Gwen: I'm sorry I didn't mean it like that it's just I thought I wouldn't be meeting you so soon or at all considering how famous you are again sorry

Antonio: Relax and stop apologizing you've done nothing wrong. As for why I am here instead of someone else well if was going to take in interns I figured it would be best for me to meet them myself. Since I would be working closely with such gifted individuals and they are the future of this field it would be best to show them how important they are by actually being here.

Gwen: Wow I didn't think you would be so dedicated

Antonio: Well I figured if I'm going to do something it is best to do it all the way rather than take half-measures so I need to if we would work well together, when it comes to research it is best to do it yourself rather than expect others to do for you

Gwen: So you came to not only test my capabilities but also to see if we get along well together?

Antonio: Exactly

During the interview, we continued to make small talk. We would occasionally talk about her life and goals she even told me about her band and invited me to come to her practice sessions. She gushed about the genius behind the medi-gel before immediately becoming embarrassed. I told her about the future projects that I had planned and she became excited. By the end of the interview, we were talking like long-lost friends getting finally meeting again. She even developed a crush as she even laughed at the jokes I knew were just bad. She was just the first intern that I had my eye on if the rest of the interviews were like this I would be able to turn all my future lab bunnies into my harem in no time.
