Scaling the fence

Valerie and Hawk quietly approached the fence, identifying a spot with infrequent patrols. "I'll go first", said Hawk. He climbed up the fence and vaulted over, landing silently on the ground.

"Come on", he said, his voice urgent. "There's going to be someone here soon."

Carefully, she swung one leg over the spikes, straddling the fence while making sure her crotch was at a safe distance from the sharp metal. She secured her leg on the other side, using her toe to grip the fence as she tried to swing her other leg over the barrier.
