Calling up an old friend

That night, Janice tossed and turned in bed. She couldn't believe Alec no longer loved her, after all this time, after everything they'd done together. Why did he think she wasn't beautiful enough? All that talk of Caitlin. No matter what he said, she knew the truth, knew he loved Caitlin now. Well, she'd just have to fix that. Janice sat up in bed as her eyes once again appeared to glaze over and turn almost completely black. She got out of her bed and grabbed her phone. She found Caitlin's contact and hit call. It rang. 'Hello?' A tinny tired voice asked through the phone. Even with the poor quality, she could tell it was Caitlin's voice.

'Hi Caitlin, it's me Janice. Look, I know it's late, and I know things ended poorly between us, but would you be happy to come into the office right now? Come work for us again?' Janice asked, she needed some excuse to lure her somewhere private.

'Umm sure, but why tonight?'

'Alec had a brilliant idea to photograph us both together, to transition help transition to you as our latest model. But the deadline for the product launch is tomorrow, so it would need to be tonight.'

'Umm, yes! Yes, I'll be there. Give me an hour. Thank you!'

'See you then.' Janice replied, hanging up the phone. Perfect. Janice then got dressed and left home.
