Chapter 60

Does Cheshire win?
yes
In a weird twist of fate, Cheshire suddenly found herself back into winning contention. It'd looked grim just a round before. She didn't do the "reasonable" thing and chickened out last round instead of taking the additional card, which to be honest, didn't do her any favors. At least at a glance. Hindsight is, as they say, 20/20.
Had she chickened out it would basically be the same as unknowingly handing the win over to Bitch. But she hadn’t. She’d stuck with it and was now in a position to reap the rewards of an action she didn’t think would yield anything at all.
Looking up at the other players, Cheshire felt scared. If she were to win, the consequences and all their fates were in her own hands. With all the intrusive changes to her psyche over the course of the game, Cheshire didn’t exactly feel as though she was the best option to give such power to. Maybe she should chicken out after all, leave her own fate in the hands of Bitch.
She weighed her options. Roll, or give up. Rolling didn’t necessarily mean winning though. She needed a three or higher just to cross the finish line. There were two thirds of a chance for that to happen. Decent odds, but not an assured win. Perhaps she should just leave it up to chance.
Yes. A good option for sure. Letting Bitch win was scary enough as it was. None of the other players knew what to expect from the ruthless, obscene milf. Would she use her wish to permanently screw over her contestants? Based on the attitude she’d displayed over the second half of the game, the chance of that happening seemed frighteningly high. Thoughts of victory crept into Cheshire’s mind as she contemplated what she’d wish for if she did win.
Of course, the very reason the girls were playing the game until it’s completion at all was because of Cheshire. Vague memories and a notion that she’d been broken beyond repair kept them all going. The goal was to fix her. Both she and Kitty knew as much. God knew why Ruby was even there at all. And Bitch ..Well Bitch appeared to have been corrupted to the point where teamplay seemed like a distant concept to her.
Do I really want to turn back though?
The thing about losing oneself entirely to corruption is that the desire to ever return to normalcy dwindles. Cheshire’s mind was so caught up with the idea of utterly submitting to others that it was clouding her judgement. Would there even be a need to turn back if they all liked their changes? She could indulge into her deepest, darkest desires and not feel bad about doing so. She could even make it so that the others wouldn’t be the wiser. Ignorance is bliss.
“You gonna roll or just sit around with that stupid grin on your face?”
Bitch could practically taste the win, despite her actual chances of winning being the other end of Cheshire’s two thirds, hence her impatience.
“..Sorry”
Following her meek apology, Cheshire rolled the die for what she hoped would be the last time.
“You’ve gotta be fucking kidding me..”
Sure enough, what had previously seemed impossible just happened. Cheshire had won and Bitch was NOT happy about it. She felt like the game had robbed her twice in a row. Before she had the chance to throw insults at poor Cheshire however, an all-consuming light began to emit from the game board.
When her vision finally cleared again, Alice found herself alone in a strange, bright place. At least she thought she was alone, but made evident by the figure further up ahead, she most definitely wasn’t.
Even with it’s back turned, Alice could tell what it was supposed to mirror. Her own corrupted form. Speaking of corrupted form, Alice noticed how clear her mind felt. For the first time since first rolling the die, she was back to her energetic, positive self.
“Who ..are you?”
The wish
Chicken out: The game
A simple transformative game of chicken
Welcome to chicken out! The game so good we spun it off unchanged!! Based on the concept of Mr_Anderson. This is a game of chicken. The players each take turns rolling a die, their game piece moves accordingly and they draw a card based on the color they land on. The cards contain a text with transformative properties. After reading the card, the player can then choose to either continue or chicken out. Easy, right?
