Garcia and Barnes

With Mills making the jump to Captain, you think about who else deserves promotions in your guard. Garcia has been preforming excellently in every regard, and you think promoting her from PFC to Specialist is well deserved. With two new Privates coming in as well, you decide to give Barnes a promotion to Private First Class, giving her Garcia's current rank, in order to put her above the newcomers. Foreman has been doing well, but with no other Sergeants, it's kind of pointless to promote her right now. Zhang does a great job and people like her, but she doesn't strike you as having either the appetite or aptitude for a leadership role.

Just before 1600, you have the whole building assembled in the lobby area. Your guard stands off the the side, along with the three new girls ready to take their oaths. You call them to the front and have each of them take their oaths, feeling the same rush of power as you did before as each girl affirms their willingness to protect, serve, and pleasure you. Then it comes time for promotions.

"I need Lietenant Mills, Private First Class Garcia, and Private Barnes up front." Mills answers with a snap, while Garcia and Barnes exchange confused looks before following her. "With so much happening in the last few weeks, I decided now is a good a time as any to hand out some well deserved promotions. First, Lietenant Mills. She has been the leader of my guard, in charge of keeping order amongst her troops and keeping them trained up the high standard that we have all grown accustomed to. With that in mind, I hearby promote her from the rank of Lietenant to Captain." As the residents erupt into applause, you take the old rank off her chest, replacing it with the two bars of Captain. "Congratulations Captain Mills," you tell her, shaking her hand.

"Thank you, sir," she says, unable to resist beaming. Next, you make it to Garcia.

"Formerly the lowest ranking member of my guard, Garcia has worked hard and kept her skills sharp, proving to me that she is ready to no longer be a Private. With that in mind, I hearby promote her from the rank of Private First Class to Specialist." Garcia still seems stunned, grateful tears in her eyes as the group claps. "Congratulations Specialist Garcia."

"Wow, sir, this is... well it's... thank you, sir."

Finally, you move to Barnes. "Last but not least, we have Private Barnes. She is a new addition to my guard, but she picked it up faster and more effectively than any of us saw coming. In light of her incredible success, I hearby promote her from the rank of Private to Private First class." Another round of cheers. "Congratulations PFC Barnes."

"This is such a surprise, sir. I'll make sure to prove that you made the right call." You release your people from their formation, and everyone intermingles to give congratulations. Walter is the only one who Natasha seems happy to have shake her hand, while the others are all smiles. You had informed Melissa, who made cookies for the occassion, a rare treat when things like eggs and flour and better used for bread, but you're glad you did to make the ocassion truly special.
