CH1: Great Soldiers

“Your whole motto is not to play, right? So, you wouldn’t shoot an unarmed player, would you? I just want to talk.” She walks to the middle of the room and keeps her arms up. It takes a little while but eventually Kendall climbs over the barricade and holds her pistol at the tall dark woman. “This is just… for protection, you know. I’m not going to shoot you.” Kendall mutters and shrugs: “What is it? Do we have a deal? You get her back and you stop? Actually… we also want that gun.” She points at the **** rifle and Calliope laughs: “Fine, fine! Sam, could you give them the gun?” The tanned girl seems conflicted but throws the gun across the floor and the ponytail girl leans in to grab it.

Just as she does, Lorelei sprints and tackles Kendall from behind and forces the gun from her hand and shoots her twice on the side as the ponytail girl aims at them.

“What the hell are you doing?!” She shouts and Kendall shivers and whimpers as Lorelei keeps her in place on the floor. “Go Calli! I got this! You guys go! She’s right, you will just get eliminated. I can’t let that happen. This is how we win!” She gets up while holding the gun on Kendall’s red side. “Ah… E-E-Erika, I c-can’t die, p-please…” Kendall looks like she’s about to faint as Lorelei pushes her back towards her teammates. Erika seems tense while holding her shotgun at Lorelei and her hostage.

“You wouldn’t risk the spread, would you? You will hit her too! She’s at 1 health! Think about it!” Lorelei says and Calliope walks back to her team and tells them to get up and they start slowly moving out as Lorelei backs away. Eventually the lean brunette is the last one in the doorway and lifts her hand to wave at the Retreaters. That’s when something unexpected happens.

Erika, the ponytail girl drops her shotgun and lifts the **** rifle with her feet into her hands and quickly takes aim. “Wait…” Lorelei looks in disbelief as Erika shoots clean over Kendall’s shoulder into her chest with the powerful rifle. I feel Grace lean on me from behind as she makes a weird excited gasp. Lorelei falls down and Kendall stumbles behind cover as we can only hear the Recreationists scream in the hallway. Erika empties at least three ammo usbs at the doorway as Kendall runs to her and hugs her and cries her eyes out.

“Great shot! Great fucking shot!” We hear Calliope curse and it really looks like it might be over at last. Then the intercom comes on again: “Lorelei has been eliminated by Erika.” So she really did shoot her. Erika keeps guard as the rest of her team help their leader and comfort her. “Is it over?” I ask my friend and she seems weirdly silent and I turn to her. She has a blush on her face and seems giddy as I frown at her: “What?”

“Nothing! That was just… wicked is all.” She mutters and I roll my eyes and we leave.
