An unfortunate complication.

Morning came and went, as did Kazuma's morning blowjob from Darkness. Now relaxed, he headed outside and reclined in the sun for a bit. At least until Megumin showed up and started to badger him.

She wanted to go take out monsters, but Kazuma was adamant about not going. "Why should we go out and kill monsters without there being a relevant quest?" he asked bluntly. "No point without there being a reward..."

"No point!? You may be satisfied with being lazy, but I am not!" Megumin huffed. "To truly master the Explosion magics, I must test myself every day, in battle against monsters! I have right here my new manatite staff! It's veritably throbbing with power!" she cooed, cuddling with it. "How I long to test its percussive potential with my explosive magic! I really want to let one off!"

"You can let one off with this staff here," he joked, gesturing at his crotch, making her blush.

"Not in public!" she protested.

They then heard a shriek, and upon investigating, found Aqua with a tiny bag of money. She was flabbergasted at how little she had left from the cabbage harvest, because apparently she had mostly gotten lettuce, which was less valuable.

"Heh, guess luck is a skill too, I got nothing BUT cabbage," he teased. "And no, I'm not sharing my reward with you," he added, proceeding to ignore Aqua begging for the next ten minutes.

"FINE! I'll just have to do some quests mysel- what the hell!?" she demanded upon seeing the damn near empty quest board. Only the really high level ones were left. The guild receptionist then explained that apparently, one of the Devil King's generals had taken up residence nearby, and all the low level monsters had gone into hiding, leading to the east quests drying up.

"Well... That's bad news," Kazuma groaned. Well, at least HE still had money... Maybe he could wait this out... Aqua on the other hand would need some luck, panicking as she saw a bartender holding her tab.
