Finishing the hunt

Gwen stared at the hunters, ready for a fight. "Your prize?"

"Kraven and I could have participated in the hunt, but we weren't looking for any mere trophy. We wanted something rare, something worthy of our time. So we watched. And we observed. We saw this cat hunt... this beast, corrupted by chaos magic... and we chose it as our quarry," Cheetah explained.

"So everybody played right into your hands..." Gwen realized. "Dammit..."

"Indeed you did. And to show our gratitude, we'll let you live... this time," Kraven said. "As agreed, Minerva, you may take the head of the beast. I will be taking its pelt."

"Whoa whoa whoa whoa," Cassie said, "What makes you think you're just gonna walk away after everything you've done?"

"You could try to apprehend us, that is true," Kraven said. "But do you think we haven't prepared for this? Drones, reveal yourselves..."

A swarm of drones emerged from the ocean, surrounding the group.

"Ohhhh figs..." Gwen griped, trepidation creeping into her voice.

"Again, since we are both grateful for your involvement in our hunt, we'll let you live if you simply stay still..." Kraven told the group.

"Serond esoht deirf mrotsrednuht a fi emahs a eb d'it..." Zatanna muttered, and a freak thunderstorm hit, striking a number of drones that had been zeroed in the group. WIth a window presenting itself, everyone sprang into action. Wanda took the opportunity to hex the drones, messing with their targeting systems and allowing for Felicia, Selina, and Laura to dismantle them without much difficulty. Meanwhile, Cassie had caught up to Cheetah, and hit her with a devastating left, while Gwen gave chase to the escaping Kraven.

"Wooooo! Who's hunting now? WHO'S HUNTING NOW?!" Gwen yelled almost joyfully as she gave chase to Kraven, who was carrying the carcass of Teekl on his shoulders as he ran.

"You've done me another favor, spider! I do not have to share my prize anymore!" Kraven shouted back. Even though he was carrying the giant cat, it didn't seem to slow him down.

"How can you run so fast?!" Gwen yelled in frustration as she tried to keep up with Kraven.

"I prepare for everything, whelp! Do you think I'm not--"

THWIP!

A web line snared Kraven, causing him to fall. Gwen caught up to him, and began pelting him with webbing of her own before delivering a satisfying KO punch.

"You didn't see that coming," Gwen remarked. "I guess you don't prepare for everything."

Spider-Man dropped down from his perch. "Heya, Gwen."

"What's up, Professor?" Gwen greeted Peter.

"I was just doing some cleanup, now that the dome is gone... You wouldn't happen to know anything about that, would you?"

"It's a long story. The tl;dr of it is 'because magic", though," Gwen explained.

"So you did help bring it down... Nice work, GS. I'm proud of ya," Peter complimented her.

Gwen smirked underneath her mask. "Thanks. You think I could use some of that good will? Maybe to, I don't know, get an extension or two on my next paper?"

"Sure, why not? Saving the city isn't the worst excuse I've ever heard for a late paper," Peter answered.

"Glad to hear it. Now, if you'll excuse me, I've gotta go see if my girlfriend's done Cheetah wrangling," said Gwen. "Say hi to Kristy & Ben for me."

"Gotcha. I'm going home now to sleep for a week... or until my kid wakes me up. Whichever comes first. See ya in class, Gwen."

Peter swung away, and Gwen picked up Kraven and made her way back to the docks, where Cassie had successfully lassoed Cheetah.

"I guess we're done here," Raven said. "Wanda -- Zatanna -- I appreciate the help."

"Anytime," Zatanna answered. "But something Klarion said bothered me..."

"You mean that multiversal spleen comment? Yeah, that bugs me too... even if it doesn't make any sense," Gwen interjected.

"Same here. I get the feeling it's something we're going to need to look into," Wanda added. "Zatanna, you said you're apprenticing with Dr. Strange, right?"

Zatanna nodded and confirmed, "That's right. I'm going to start doing some research. See if I can't make sense of what he meant."

"Do you think I could help you? If there's something else out there, maybe we can find a way take preventative measures against whatever it is. I'd prefer not to have to use chaos magic again if I don't have to."

"Sounds good to me. I get the feeling I'll need all the help I can get... and I'm sure Strange won't mind another set of hands helping around the Sanctum," Zatanna agreed. "What about you, Raven? Care to join us?"

"I guess I can work around my Titans duties with you guys... all right, I'm in," Raven agreed. "The rest of you -- you didn't totally suck out there. I'll see you back at the tower, Cass."

Raven left for Titans Tower, and Zatanna & Wanda for the Sanctum Sanctorum, leaving Gwen, Cassie, Felicia, Selina, & Laura. They notified SHIELD authorities that the hunt's ringleaders had been subdued, and once agents had arrived to apprehend them, the group left the docks and ducked into an alley.

"Am I glad that's overwith," Selina remarked. "That whole thing seemed like an eternity."

"No kidding," Felicia agreed. "I am so looking forward to a little relaxation."

"Who says I'm gonna let you two relax yet?" Laura said, a smirk on her face.

Gwen looked at Laura suspiciously. "Whoa... is Laura smiling? What did you two do to her?"

"We got her into bed, obviously," Selina answered smugly. "We're that damn good."

"Well, color me impressed. What's she like? ...On second thought, I'm not sure I wanna know," Gwen commented. "I get the feeling the answer would terrify me."

"It probably would. But in the best way possible," Felicia teased.

Laura popped her claws and ran them lightly across Gwen's chest. "She's right. I don't know if you're ready. But some day you two are going to find out," she murmured quietly but firmly in Gwen's ear.

"Um, yeah. I, uh..." Gwen nervously stammered. Her heart was pounding, but she felt a serious thrill as well. Laura then walked up to Cassie, and lightly teased her with her claws as well. "I've been with an Amazon before, y'know. Artemis of Bana-Mighdall. She really impressed me... Your kind have some serious stamina," she told Cassie, her lips grazing the blonde's ear. "I look forward to testing yours."

"I'm... actually a demigoddess..." Cassie said nervously.

"That so? Well, that just makes things more interesting, doesn't it? Either way, I hope you and your girlfriend are ready for the next time we meet..." Laura said, stepping back from the blondes. "Good working with the both of you. Anyway, I'm heading home now... still got some aggression to work out of my system. Selina -- Felicia -- are you coming?"

"Whatever you want," Selina and Felicia eagerly agreed. Before leaving, they turned to Gwen & Cassie, mischievous smiles on their faces. "As for you two, keep in touch. I think there's plenty of naughty things the four of us can get up to," Selina purred.

"I'm sure there is," Cassie chuckled. "I get the feeling it won't be long before we run into each other again."

"So do I," Felicia agreed. "Until then, lovers. Oh, and Spider, tell Red to drop me a line some time. Selina wants to meet her... and I'm dying to get to know her alien princess. Plus, I feel like we've got some serious 'catching up' to do..."

"I'll let her know," Gwen said. "In the meantime, you two, uh, have fun with Laura... don't, um... overexert yourselves?"

"Don't worry about us... we know our limits," Felicia laughed. "See you girls real soon... and don't hesitate to call us if you're looking for some fun of your own."

"Wow," Gwen said as Laura, Felicia and Selina walked off. "What have those two gotten themselves into?"

"I'm not too sure... but I kinda wanna find out for myself. Even if it scares me a little," Cassie answered.

"I'm sort of curious myself," Gwen agreed. "I kinda wanna see what Laura does with a submissive like you..."

"I think everyone's a submissive with her," Cassie pointed out.

"Really? What about Diana?" Gwen asked.

"OK, now *that* I'd like to see," Cassie admitted, laughing. "If anyone could tame Laura, it's our mistress..."

Gwen chuckled and took ahold of Cassie's hand. "Sounds hot as fuck. Right now, though, I wanna go home, take a hot bath, and crawl into bed with my girlfriend."

"That sounds perfect," Cassie agreed. "Let's get going."
