Which one to buy?
A rifle and a pistol.
Picking each gun up you try the sights, feel the weight, and try to make a decision you sort of know might mean your life. “What kind of holster rigs do you have?”
He actually puts his hands on your hips before answering, “You sure are a skinny one aren't you. I think I have something that would fit with little modification for any of the guns. Which one do you want?”
Thinking it over you decide if you need to do any hunting for food you better buy the rifle. Then for self defense 5 shots are better than 2. “Well I think I would like the rifle and the snub nosed revolver. Plus for those I would like a small holster I can hide in the small of my back, plus a sling for the rifle. Oh ya and a belt with a pouch for ammo and powder I suppose.”
“I have a holster that will work just fine, as for the belt to hold it, I have several I can cut to length no problem. Here you go.” He hands you a small holster that he tucks the gun into. It fits perfectly and has a little strap that ties it down so it won't fall out. “As for the belt I think you will like this one.” he pulls out a long leather belt about an inch thick that he has lined with soft cloth on the inside to make it more comfortable against bare skin. The holster slips right on and he cinches it tight cutting a few inches off and poking a few holes so you can adjust the fit. It seems to sit best just above your hips, with the gun sitting nicely about an inch above the base of your tail. He then pulls it back off of you and attaches three small pouches for your bullets, powder, caps, and the little cone shaped bullets for the rifle. Once he has it all set up for you, he asks, “So how many bullets do you want for the pistol? Plus do you want any extra for the rifle?”
“Well I don't plan to use it all that much, but I do want to practice. How about 50 extra for the rifle. As for the pistol I'll take 100 for that as well.”
“Sounds good, I knew you had more money than 800. Let's see that will be 975 silver for all of it. I suppose as a sign of good faith and future business I will throw in the holster, sling, and pouches.”
“I don't suppose you give a two gun discount do you? Or I could do a little something for you if you want.” You add flashing him a bit more leg and a dirty smile, licking your lips.
“Well now I don't think I need....” He pauses as if thinking. “Huh. Ya know, I am sure you are offering up a lay for some coin, but in fact I do have something you might be able to help me with, if your offer is genuine.”
Intrigued you answer, “Well yes, I admit that was kinda what I was thinking, but what do you need?”
“Well you are some kinda demon blooded type right?” You nod your head, and he continues, “So you got any kinda teleportation or sneaky type magic. I was thinking yes on account of needing weapons and all.” Again you nod, a smile growing on your face with the thought of an honest to goodness quest. “It just so happens that my cousin was bitchin and a moanin about his magic sword getting stolen. Not exactly stolen, just taken. He lives in a rather small farm a couple about a week's walk north a here. Or if you can move fast, then shorter a course. Anyway, the local magistrate took the sword from him sayin that it was payment for taking his daughter as a bride. Which might be fine and good and all, but I don't think his daughter was willing on getting taken either, so all in all he is in quite a fix. Now if you could go up there and take back his daughter and the sword, he could pack up and leave before the lord was any the wiser.” He watches your reaction, and when you don't say anything he adds, “Do this for me and I'll trade you that rifle for a trapdoor rifle I am pretty fond of. Much better than cap n ball let me tell you.”
