Bunker

Chapter 142 by SkyLun SkyLun

Back in Toronto when it came to Sandy, Mindy and Salem. They found a sealed tight bunker underneath one of the skyscrapers. Filled with curiosity it the hopes of finding the ultimate loot, the pair didn't want to leave it all behind.

"Thinkin' what I'm thinking?"

Mindy snickered.

"On count of three!"

Sandy spoke up. Once the both of them counted down, they slammed their fists into the steal surface. Denting the metal with a screeching force with small ripple effects that acted like shockwaves. Bending at the metal surface causing the locking mechanism to break. Bursting the double sealed doors open for them.

Lights flickered on and off, guiding them down a small flight of stairs into what appeared to be a receptionist desk. The Canadian flag stood proudly in the entrance.

"The place is... So clean compared to the surface..."

Mindy stated.

"But the smell of death lingers.."

Sandy finished.

As they traveled the clean corridors, Mindy stood paralyzed for a brief moment.

"Hmm? What's wrong?"

Sandy asked, looking over her shoulder into the room she felt so distraught. Bullet holes filled covered the walls in the room, bodies lying wake with guns in their hands. She looked at the door she had opened which was covered in blood and more holes. A hand print marked on the glass with it still slowly dripping.

"This blood... It's still fresh... At least, maybe a three days tops from the smell..."

Mindy shook her head, closing the door to the bloodbath inside. There were survivors, ones that weren't affected by the surface. But, how could this have happened?

"Hey wait! Where are you going!"

Mindy yelled out as Sandy dashed over and around the corridors. With slightly better hearing, she had heard a slight whimper. A cry in need? Someone was still alive and was deep inside this man-made cavern.

"H...help..."

Sandy froze with the two following behind her. A young voice of a little girl. Her amber hue gazed over what looks like a humanoid spiderling. She was stuck in a cage next to what appeared to be... Her parents. Cut open and dissected on two tables with a bunch of people in white coats around it. Sandy gulped at the sight, holding a rag over her nose and mouth to block the smell.

"Here, I got you.."

She muttered out softly grabbing at the lock and steel, twisting it until it snaps. Quickly grabbing the spiderly child into her arms. She was no more than four or five years old, weeks in a realistic term.

"Let's take her home and feed her fast.."

Mindy didn't want to stay any longer than they needed to. This was entirely fucked up.
