A High Elf from Elwür's world

"Eothai Aiandil," Elwür said, "To think you would prove yourself a pain in the ass even now."

"Most certainly," Eothai asserted, "So long as you live, I cannot allow you to roam scot free; the blood of far too many Elven nobles lies on your hands."

Eothai drew his axe - a massive beast with a head and haft of shining metal, engraved with depictions of lions - and levelled it at Elwür's direction, causing your mother to yelp in fright as she quickly got behind the Dark Elf for safety. You, on the other hand, felt a growing irritation rather than fear at this Eothai's unexpected and extremely rude intrusion into your family home.

And to your surprise, you see Elwür aiming a revolver of all things back at Eothai.

"Drop your weapon," Elwür advised, "You're being awfully rude to my hosts."

My thoughts exactly, You thought.

"Oh really? And why should I let a troublemaker like you run scot-free? Have you captured these hapless Humans to serve as your meatshields?" Eothai retorted.

Now he was just pissing you off.

"Listen here, Eothai," You sternly interject, "You call Elwür a troublemaker, but the only troublemaker I see here is you."

"What?" Eothai mouthed.

"First off, you barged in here without any permission or warning, and then proceeded to half-wreck our house," You pointed out, "And now you're drawing your sword and causing a ruckus. I don't know how things work where you're from, but if you were caught by law enforcement or the locals, you'd only be seen as a criminal troublemaker causing mayhem for absolutely no good reason, you understand me?"

Yutsuko looked at you with frightful concern, while Elwür gave you an approving look.

"I-I apologise for this," Eothai suddenly said, bowing slightly as he deflated, "Wait, why am I apologising here!? Anyway, I'm not going back without you! You're too dangerous! You don't think that you, the Terror of Endless Night, can hope to just leave and settle here!?"

"Be quiet," Elwür scolded, "You are causing enough ruckus; we'll settle this elsewhere."

"Fine by me," Eothai acceeded.

With a wave of his fingers, Elwür opened a portal, revealing a large and vast, wide-open grassland that seemed to stretch for miles. An emerald sea under a sky of verdant azure, a perfect vacation spot for one seeking tranquility away from the hustle and bustle of noisy life.

Eothai stepped through the portal and shouted, "Come on over!"

Elwür snapped his fingers, and the portal sealed shut.

"Wow, real smooth," You remarked with a slight chuckle.

Yutsuko, on the other hand, deflated with relief, collapsing onto her hands.

"Fuck, that was so scary," She mumbled.

Elwür patted her back reassuringly, offering her a cup of water she gratefully took and hastily gulped down.

"Let's just hope he doesn't come back," You stated, "I've had enough of him for a lifetime."

Elwür simply gave you a look that said: 'Famous last words.'

The next day..."How dare you trick me!" Shouted a red-faced Eothai who barged through the front door, thankfully not smashing it in the process.

"Not my fault you're too straight-laced and gullible," Elwür chided.

Talk about harsh... You thought.

"Anyway, I'm not going back to the world of Amdai without you, so give up any thought of-!"

Eothai suddenly fell to the ground, his axe clattering to the ground.

"Oh my goodness, is he okay!?" Yutsuko gasped.

"He's alive," Elwür dispassionately pointed out as he stood up, walking towards Eothai and inspecting his face, "You've depleted your mana, haven't you?"

"...I do feel the symptoms," Eothai weakly admitted, his voice barely a whisper, "How can you possibly cast interdimensional travel magic so easily...?"

Elwür merely clicked his tongue, passing him a mana potion he gulped down. Immediately, he felt his stomach growl, and Eothai gave a long, suffering sigh.

"Why did I not pack any rations for this...?" He mumbled.

"Oh? Is there something the matter?" You asked.

"I'm just hungry, that's all," Eothai huffed.

"And yet Elwür here said that you were suffering mana depletion or something," You pointed out, "Let me guess, you can't go back?"

"Ugh!"

Yup, that confirms it for me, You thought.

"Am I to take it that you lack the means to travel back?" You further pressed, "And that not only are you all alone here on Earth, you don't even know where you are, and have no assistance to rely on here?"

"How impudent! I'd have you know that I prepared for such things!" Eothai declared, reaching into his satchel and fishing out a stone, only to freeze at the sight of the dull, lifeless rock.

"So rather than be a complete ass, you could just ask nicely," You leaned in close, your eyes adopting a menacing air, "Come on, look me in the eye."

As Eothai flinched away from your piercing eyes, Yutsuko felt unsure on how to react to this situation, while Elwür continued to remain impressed behind his impassive mask. You had to admit, you derived some satisfaction from seeing this numbskull refuse to look you in the eye.

"The stone," Elwür beckoned, outstretching his hand.

Reluctantly, Eothai handed it to him. After a few minutes of scrutiny, Elwür nodded with finality.

"Um, what is that, can I ask?" Said Yutsuko.

"A portalstone," Elwür answered, "One of Edioha's latest achievements in arcane-craft to facilitate easier travel across vast distances. So long as it was active and held magic, it can create a portal to your intended destination. Depending on how its crafted, it can also help track down a specific person. In this case, I suspect either a sample of my hair or blood was used."

"Thanks for the info," You stated, "But are they usually one-time uses?"

"No, not usually," Elwür clarified, "Normally, they can last as long as they want to, as their magic is self-sustaining. However, this particular portalstone seems shoddily made, since the enchantments could not hold after one use. Exactly who did you commission to make this, Eothai?"

"None of your business," Eothai huffed.

Eothai's stomach growled again, and Yutsuko then said, "Oh, you're hungry. Since you're here, why not have something to eat?"

She retrieved a katsu sandwich from the fridge and handed it to Eothai, who gratefully accepted the meal. As he bit into it, he paused for a few tepid moments, before wolfing it down like a hungry dog.

"Thank you for the nourishment," Eothai nodded to Yutsuko, "Now then, let us settle this with a fight, Elwür!"

"If you leave peacefully, we'll give you a whole bag's worth," You quickly interjected.

Eothai took the bag and cheerfully left through the front door.

"Pardon my intrusion!" He cheered.

"What a simpleton," You remarked.

"Tell me about it," Yutsuko added.

Elwür simply sipped his tea.
